COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Aged Saison. 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pino Saison Blend. Brettanomyces added and some souring due to happenstance. IBU’s kept higher (30 IBU) to keep souring to minimal levels.

Clear straw. Sweet(ish) nose with Citrus and hint of funk. Light body with citurs, hint of sour from brets, and hint of pepper from the barrel. Lingering bitter finish. Decent Saison could actually be kicked up a notch in many areas (not all at once though!)

On tap at Boneshaker Public House in Rocklin, CA. Pours hazy golden with a decent white head and a fruity aroma. There is a nice yeast presence with a medium-bodied caramel malt flavor and an oaky finish.

Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Tart/sour aroma. Tart flavor with sweet sugary malt. Medium bodied. Sweet malt lingers with tartness, light oak, and light lemon.

Bistro -Bal Aged Fest 2010. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one-finger white head. The aroma is sweet malt, oak, vanilla, light fruits, and white wine, chardonnay mainly. The flavor is pretty nice. Mildly sweet from the malt but well-balanced by oak. Considerable chardonnay presence along with other light fruits, pear maybe. A little vanilla from the -bals. Medium-bodied and smooth on the mouthfeel with a little less carbonation than I like in a saison but a great feel nonetheless. Enjoyed this one more than I thought I would.

Tasted at the 5th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on 11/13/2010. This saison pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, a touch herbal with a hint of funk. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and spicy. A touch of funk and wood. A very solid saison with a little bit of funk. A nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
