Not quite the bourbon I was expecting. Has a dark brown color with a light tan head that was diminishing. Almost no lacing. Taste a sweet hot mess. Kind of watery. Tastes more like kentucky bourbon. Overall it is sweeter than I would expect and light carbonation from the firkin. Not bad, but wouldn’t want a whole bottle of this.

Draft. A dark brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and bourbon. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, roasted malt, bourbon, and soy sauce, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Keg @ CBC 2013. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny head. The nose is chocolate-covered raisin. Sheet cake. Chocolate. Some vanilla and treacle. The taste is rich roasted malts. A bit of chocolate. Ash. Mildly spicy hop on the finish. Some raisin. Full body, soft and supple. Overall, solid.

Draught at CBC 2013. Clear dark dark brown - offwhite head. Raisins, sweetness, ok bitterness, wooden, nice bourbon, coconut, oiley, dark chocolate, light coffee. Not perfect.

[5/3/13] Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Black with a light brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, liqueur, vanilla and bourbon. Sweet flavor with lots of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, wood and a slightly alcoholic finish. Full-bodied. Good stuff.

Draught @ CBC 2013: Pitch black coloured. Dense beige head. Aroma: Vanilla, roast, bourbon, chocolate, some coffee, liqourice, brown sugar. Flavour: Roast,cocoa, coffee, some flowers, vanilla, sweetness, bourbon, wood. Medium to full bodied. Ends roasted bitter.

On tap at CBC, pours a deep dark amber-tinged dark brown with small beige head. Aroma of deep dark fruits, chocolate liqueur, Flavour of deep dark fruits, wood, harsh bourbon, and alcohol. A little too boozy to me with harsh jagged edges in there. Not the most well-made impie, but fairly decent stuff.
