3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep brown with a slight reddish hue. Aromas of brown sugar?, slight citrus, roasted nuts and a little flowery. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied. Fairly bitter with flavors of caramel, butterscotch and a little vanilla. There is is still a funkiness from the yeast that is very unpleasant.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This winter release is probably one of the best around. Just a solid brew that rocks all the rest at 10%. Pours a red/amber with a off-white head that leavs nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet and malty, with hints of molasses and dark fruit. Taste is very malty sweet up front, the brown sugar follows it up nicely with a good bitterness to the finish to balance it out a bit. Very smooth with a thick mouthfeel, very rich and warming winter brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours a reddish hued amber, fairly clear, medium off-white head, fine bubbles, low carbonation, with attractive lacing. Sweet plumy like aroma, with a cloying candy like tinge. If UBER gummy worms had an aroma, this would be it. Semi-sweet, biscuity, flowing into a malty flavor that finishes somewhat like unsweetened baked cookies. Definately malty and bready tho. Seems to pick up more sweetness as it finishes. Feels rather thick and heavy. Good body, decent mouthfeel. Finishes very syrupy & sweet, a bit too sweet IMHO. The 10% ABV isnt too noticable, but it seems rather cloying tho. Some bitterness on the aftertaste that really sneaks up on ya. Tiz alright, but I still will stick with my Port Townsend Barleywine over all else!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a ruby red color with a small off white head and light lacing on the glass. Sweet candy sugar, and grapefruit hop aroma. Taste was blended nicely between bitter hops, sweet brown sugar, caramel malts, and light alcohol. A nice, not-so-over-the-top barleywine.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber pour. Didnt get alot of the brown sugar from the nose or the palate. I taste every bit of the alcohol, not impressed. Maybe it needs to age 6 months. I will reevaluate then...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2007 Bottle. Pours a brownish red color. Aroma is sweet and kind of tart. Flavor is malty with a little bit of hoppiness. Alcohol on the way down is slighty burning on the throat. Not all that sweet for a barley wine. Pretty good though, easy to drink.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear mahogney color with a mid sized off-white head. Sweet malt aroma with notes of plum and grape. Moderatley sweet, some toffee. Some rasin flavor, a good amount of bitterness in the finish. Alcohol is concealed quite nicely. Not tops for the style, but I would certainly drink it again.
