| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep amber red with a beige head. Fruity aroma with notes of grapefruit, strawberry, grass, and caramel. Medium body and a mostly tart and fruity flavor with notes of grapefruity hops, brown sugar and alcohol. A bit of an acidic finish. An ok beer, but it didn’t impress me that much. dkachur (2441), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Bottle. Pours reddish-copper with thin head. Brown sugar and hops come through on the aroma, but I found the aroma to be a bit bitter and unpleasant. The brown sugar is present in the taste, but the maltiness of this is totally overpowered by the hops. Barleywines are one of my favorite styles, but even though this isn’t bad, if this had been my first of the style I’d probably never go back. ucusty (1922), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Fluffy off-white head and nice lacing. Brown sugar and caramel malts on the nose. Big malty flavor with notable hints of hops and caramel. VonHayes (10), USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours golden-orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma is fresh orange, brown sugar, and caramel. Flavor is brown sugar, caramel, and orange up front, then adding some woody and grapefruit bitterness, and leaving a syrupy and resiny lingering taste. A bit of alcohol noticeable if I look. Pretty good, if a bit rough around the edges. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

A beautiful glaze of lacing sticks to the glass. Aroma is filled with cherries, velvety caramel, laced with bright juicy apples. A wonderful array of floral hops hits the tongue; they resonate throughout my head. Ripe fruits: cherries, watermelon, apples, citrus. Very sharp, very smooth.
