COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An aborted batch of their Old Gnarleywine ended up tasting nearly as good as that they were hoping for, so they bottled it. God bless capitalism. OG 1.100 IBU 51.1

Enjoyed by its lonesome in a pint glass, late night paired with some Demetri Martin standup on TV. On first pour, you get a strong whiff of the brown sugar, then when you get closer, you get that old familiar Lagunitas-blast of hops. Itís one of those perfect-pour beers; just throw it down the middle, and it will perfectly sort out two fingers of foam atop a caramel-colored body. Upon first taste, it seems a bit sweet, but the more you have, the more the lingering hops begin to dominate the profile, giving you a terrific malt/hop combination of flavors. For so much flavor, itís easy to gulp it down, but it deserves to be savored.

Resiny, piney, grassy aroma. Pours a clear dark copper with a thick light tan head that fades very slowly leaving a thin coating on the glass. Pine, orange. Silky smooth mouthfeel with a sharp finish. Boozy finish.

A very interesting brew. Doesnít smell or taste like anything iíve had before. The brown sugar is definitely there, not sure what to think of this one just yet.

Damn great stuff from Lagunitas. This is somewhere inbetween Sucks and NightTime. Malt forward, without getting bready. Sweet, without getting cloying. Caramel, sugar. Hop forward, great balanced carbonation. Pours a beautiful brown-red. Itís one of the tastiest seasonals around. Lagunitas are really spectacular!

Sweetness is there but this one is still a blast of hoppiness. If you like Sumpiní Extra youíll like this one too, I still prefer Sumpiní Wild.

Bottle. Bright red with tight tan head. Burnt floral aroma. Sweet brown sugar in the taste with the signature lagunitas hop bitterness. Also notes of caramel, and warm booze. Medium body, average carb. A great winter seasonal brew.

Poured from a 12 oz. Aroma is slightly floral. Flavor is somewhat sweet and hoppy. It has a resinous, biscuit flavor...but not overwhelming with brown sugar. Definitely has a sweet aftertaste. Not bad!
