3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nose is hoppy. Nice red pour. Sweet hoppiness blasts first. Taste lingers on nicely. Spices and sugar notes don't really come to me until a few sips are taken. Good stuff

Quite sweet, so it doesn’t taste as alcoholic as it might have done. Gently fizzy but smooth to drink.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
It pours amber with a tan head that produces lacing as the head disappears. There are aromas of brown sugar, alcohol, and a bit of molasses. It has a sweet taste with sugar, dried fruit, and malts. It has a lively carbonation kick to it and a slightly less that moderate bitter kick on the palate.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
9.9% abv. Purchased from Leary’s, the Amesbury location, yesterday evening. $11.79 for the 6pack. Served at 51°F, as if anyone cares. To oversized snifter, it pours a chestnut-tinted Sinopia with which a creamy ghost white head 1 finger in length stood. Looks remarkably like cappuccino microfoam. Aromas of lavender, mint, fir bark, vanilla extract, dark brown sugar, minerals, cherry blossom honey/cherry-flavored cough drops, sun-dried seaweed, sweet malt, and booze. Tastes the same with the addition of spent grains, exercise perspiration, and pine cones. Prancingly yeasty by finish (sourdough again, yep!)
Likeable, but could do with a lower alcohol content.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap in tulip glass.
Appearance: deep amber color, slight white head leaves some lacing on the glass. Some carbonation evident.
Aroma: caramel, rich barley malt syrup, earthy and citrus hops, and a slight yeasty funk.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied, silky mouthfeel with some alcohol warming in the throat.
Flavor: brown sugar, caramel, cookie dough, bread crust and moderate hop bitterness.
Overall: well done for easy sipping on a cold winter night.

Revo. Odd how I’ve never reviewed this. Odd indeed. What’s not to live about Lagunitas? This beer is fantastic. Sweet sweet caramel, mellow spice, syrup, toasty, undertones of dirty choco, sweet thick dull citrus, mouthwatering stuff.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clean motor oil..... peach hop awsome arome..... lemon/lime. Taste close to same but better. Hidden face crushing bitter masked by tons of sweetness. So smooth.... malts are thick and heavy for such a light color. Lime mixed with peach hop profile...... A almost chocolate comes through. This a bad choice to drink on a work lunch. Want so much more!!!!! Vanilla in the finish? Yum!!!! My Wilbur has arrived, review over.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a brilliant, amber body. Off-white head with resiliently sticky lacing. Noticeable barley and malt aromas. A floral sweetness that reminded me of cinnamon raisin bread. Fruity tastes of cherries, apples, and caramel. Nice hop presence that brought everything into balance. Semi-dry finish with a touch of alcohol that left a lingering sweetness. Heavier and sweeter than Lagunitas Sucks, but undoubtedly a tasty barley wine.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not much aroma, with a great color and head. You can taste the malt with the taste of alcohol, but it is very smooth. Not a bad strong American ale.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Cherry-apple and caramel malt aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet cherry, caramel malt and mildly bitter fresh hay flavor. Body on the lighter side for a barleywine. Excellent - a barleywine I could drink every day.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear deep reddish orange with rocky off white head that leaves ample lacing. Aroma initially is muted from being served too cold. Let’s wait a bit... ok. Big sweet malts with booze, caramel, and hops in the distance. Flavor is aggressive - very malt forward with a sticky pine resin quality throughout. The carbonation is active and intense enough that it distracts from the overall flavor. More a "strong ale" than a barleywine, it seems elusive as to be quantified as any strict style. Medium bodied, near champagne carbonation, sticky sweet finish. To be served tepid.
