3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle, no date.
Poured deep copper color with not much head. What head there was hung around and laced nicely. Visually looked like good maple syrup with a bit if foam on top.
Aroma was subdued. Some resinous pine notes, blended tropical fruit, malt, a bit of rum raisin, sweet.
Taste was much bolder. Sweetness initial, but some bitter resin at out the same time, then tropical. Didn’t immediately think pineapple. More of a mango and papaya flavor. Bitterness hits at the end, and the I get pineapple syrup flavor in the aftertaste. Body had some raisiny notes, slight brown sugar or caramelized sugar taste.
Mouthfeel was smooth and sticky, but aftertaste lingers and gives some tingle from the alcohol. A bit of astringency makes it dry out some.
Overall enjoyable to drink. Not what I was expecting. Nice balance, but the lingering aftertaste takes it down tick for me.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with tan head. Huge, relatively simplistic caramelly malt backbone, pierced by pine-y and citric hops. Not a world beater, but tasty, dangerously drinkable, and affordable.

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Poured from a bottle. Has a hazy bronze body with a nice white head. Aroma is a very subtle molasses and caramel. Taste is very malty sweet, indicative of the brown sugar. Also has hints of molasses but with a nice bitterness at the end.

Bottle. Dark pour with tan head. Aroma of marshmallow and socks. Taste is muted chocolate with some definite, overly sweet notes. Not my favorite. Glad Sucks came along.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is one of those rare beers that not only looks like a light pretty beer but tastes like a full double IPA. The aroma orange zest, pineapple, mango, and lime. Great malt back up to this hop wallop. Very tasty

On tap at Shamrocks. Served a dark ruby red color with an off-white head that lasts and very nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, bit of caramel, hint of hops and spice. Taste of roasted malt, caramel sweetness, dark fruit, hint of nuts and spice in the background. Mild bitterness and a very clean finish. Moderate body, smooth with a very subtle warming. Nicely balanced with The 9.8% ABV very well hidden. Enjoyable sipper that goes down way too easy.
