An aborted batch of their Old Gnarleywine ended up tasting nearly as good as that they were hoping for, so they bottled it. God bless capitalism. OG 1.100 IBU 51.1

Tap. Catskill Mountain Pizza. Clear brown color. Medium carbonation and lively. Thin off-white head. Nose was very estery, with some bready malts. Very hoppy flavor and very bitter. Had no idea this was a barley wine. Was very sweet and sugary and its name is well put as it reminded me of brown sugar flavors. Was served in shaker like other beers. Good selection but clearly the server didnít know what they were serving (told me it was a brown ale). Only found out later it was 9% abv - wow.

Rating #2197 - 2015.12.01 - Draught @revolutionyeg - Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, toffee. Pours a rich amber, barely there white head. Medium carbonation, heavy alcohol warmth. Probably the best tasting abortion ever, this avoids some of the hotness of raw boozy barleywines, sweet sugary notes linger into a pretty exquisite bitterness. Nice.

Intense piney-floral IPA like aroma. CLear copper color with a sudsy off-white head. Syrupy-sweet, almost barleywine-esque flavor but spiked with heavy piney-floral hop notes. A great beer.

On bottle, golden reddish colour, white longlasting head. Distinct sweet, caramel smell with hints of syrup and similiar taste but with a nice semi-bitter end.

12 oz bottle shared by ebone1988 for this fucking book. The bottle foamed over a little when it was opened. The pour is a darker copper come with a thicker khaki colored head that falls to a thick collar, leaving some thin bubbly lace down the glass. The aroma is very bitter up front. There is a lot of toasty malt and a light fruitiness. The brown sugar really doesnít stick out a whole lot, but itís present. The flavor is very malty right up front. There is a strange not really placeable fruit thing happening. Itís got a nice bitterness to it and a little influence of the sugar. This one is a little different. Itís not bad, but certainly not what I was expecting. The fruitiness is the only thing I canít place, but as it warms it gets better. The mouth feel is thinner and light. A bit of a medium body with a soft carbonation and a sweet brown sugar sweetness with a hint of bitterness.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, for the god damn book. Aroma is toasty, caramel, toffee, slight molasses and some booze, pretty decent. Appearance is copper brown, light tan head, clear. Taste is brown sugar, molasses, caramel, toffee, dark fruit, bitter, earthy hops, decent. Mouthfeel is medium body, light soft carbonation, lots of molasses and hops in the aftertaste. Overall, this one exceeded my expectations.

This is my lowest-rated beer of all time...by far. Super bitter and hoppy. I could literally barely drink one bottle. Actually I didnít, having poured the last few ounces out. Giving the remainder to the six pack to a "friend".

Appearance is a nice Amber with a thin head that doesnít go away Smell is somewhat citrus, caramel, caramel malt, Taste is very warm/alcoholic, brown sugar, lingering piney bitterness Palate is medium-full body with medium carb that is creamy Overall itís a good beer, a sipper, and a little hard to get a read on. Maybe itís because I just brushed my teeth
