fishonmyplane (124), Newington, Connecticut, USA Dec 28, 2008 Very bitter, with a flavor dominated by roasted malts and strongly brewed coffee. I was a little disappointed at how much light this one lets through - when you hold it up to a light it looks more like a brown ale than a real, full-bodies stout. Luckily, its flavor was not as light as its appearance.
This is a good choice for coffee lovers, but one to avoid at all costs if you dont like bitter beers. trayns (237), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA Dec 28, 2008 Doesnt rate up there with some of the other stouts, but this is definitely a great bargain stout. I got this stout considerably cheaper than some other stouts which werent as enjoyable as this one. Well-rounded, enjoyable stout. Definitely a pleasant surprise YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany Dec 24, 2008 At the Blind Tiger Ale House - NYC. Ahhh - nothing better than a nice dessert beer at the fire place late afternoon in the Blind Tiger ale House...ok - on the point now- pitch black color, small head. Wonderful intense coffee nose and taste. Little likeable sour edge - long lasting finish. Round body- balanced- wonderful! cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Dec 22, 2008 Deep dark pour, with foamy head, not lasting too long.Dusty dry bittering hops meet up with bittering coffee, espresso beans which are toasted over a pine burning fire, and then sprinkled with brown sugar. Easy drinking body, a little velvety. Solid beer. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA Dec 22, 2008 Bottle purchased by Timfoolery somewhere in Yolo County.
