| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2009 Brewed in the USA.... Pours a med-brown color with a thin dissipating white head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and mild chocolate. Taste is of bitter coffee, hops, and a slight hint of toffee. The mouthfeel is thin and finishes with a slightly dry burnt feeling to it. Not bad, but warning if you don’t like the bitter coffee taste, dont even bother. timfoolery (484), California, USA

This brew was a slight bit sour, I am guessing due to the coffee infusion process. It was also nutty with smoke notes. It was a little light for my palate. Ok beer. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 31, 2008 ~Pours a light dark mahogany color with big creamy brown head.
~Roasted malt aroma with coffee, dark chocolate, and licorice.
~Very bittersweet prune like flavor. Some chocolate and coffee in there as well.
~Thick feel, a bit sticky with bittersweet finish.
~I was expecting more from this. The strange bitterness irks me a bit. Takes a bit to get used to it and then became more enjoyable. fishonmyplane (124), Newington, Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Very bitter, with a flavor dominated by roasted malts and strongly brewed coffee. I was a little disappointed at how much light this one lets through - when you hold it up to a light it looks more like a brown ale than a real, full-bodies stout. Luckily, its flavor was not as light as its appearance.
This is a good choice for coffee lovers, but one to avoid at all costs if you dont like bitter beers. trayns (240), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA

I got this stout considerably cheaper than some other stouts which werent as enjoyable as this one. Well-rounded, enjoyable stout. Definitely a pleasant surprise YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany

Ahhh - nothing better than a nice dessert beer at the fire place late afternoon in the Blind Tiger ale House...ok - on the point now- pitch black color, small head. Wonderful intense coffee nose and taste. Little likeable sour edge - long lasting finish. Round body- balanced- wonderful! cbeers21 (564), Miami, Florida, USA

Easy drinking body, a little velvety. Solid beer. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA
