22oz bottle poured a super dark brown color with a decent tan head. The aromas seemed to basic for a stout with roast, chocolate, caramel, coffee and some hops. The taste was bittersweet chocolate with some coffee, but not as expected. Overall a nice heavy stout with good alcohol content.

Thanks to the BeerCellar for this as part of Secret Santa. Pours deep brownish ruby, looking blacisk thru non direct light. Heavy dark patent roasty malty aroma, plus some chocoff, molasses, slight anise. Tastes roasty malty, with a heavy cappuccino and dark chocolate flavor, a medium to dense palate, and a crisp finish. Very nice.

Get a lot of grapefruit hops in the aroma.Pours dark brown with a medium tan head.Get the coffee and chocolate in the flavor followed by some nice hops.Full mouth feel with more hops in the finish than coffee or chocolate.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2007 22 ounce bomber purchased from Nugget on Covell in Davis, CA. For claiming to be cappucino, I do not detect any coffee in the aroma. I definitely get a little sweet, chocolate, burnt malty aromas with some definite PNW grapefruity hops. This is not an overly interesting aroma. Dark brown, somewhat transparent body with a tan-brown head that is rather quickly dissipating. Rather roasted, burnt, significant coffee flavors to start. Becomes a bit astringent in the middle, which is strange. Plenty of burnt popcorn later on, Some roasted, dry, grapefruity hoppiness in the finish. I don’t care for this as much as most people.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a decent size off white head. Smells of coffee, toasted malts, chocolate, and faint hops. Light to medium body, much less than I would expect or prefer. Taste is some coffee, chocolate, toasted malt, some creamy notes. Body and flavor were too thin for my liking. Decent but not great.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2006 Poured brown/black with a large head. A lot ’browner’ that stouts I’m used to. A lot of lacing. Smelled of toasted grains and HOPS. Taste of chocolate roasted malts, coffee and less prevelant hops than was in the nose, but still there. Medium to slightly heavy body. I thought it was a little watery for the style. But it has a good flavor, otherwise.

Pours close to black with a crimson hue with held to the light and a light tan head. The aroma has roasted malt, chocolate, some cream and coffee. Full bodied with only a small amount of carbonation. The taste starts with lots of creaminess and well roasted chocolate malts. The finish has a good amount of spicy hops along with a bit of woody hop flavor that are fairly gentle. There is an underscore of coffee. Not as heavy on the coffee as I was expecting. Nice stout.

This pours an opaque, very dark brown body with an initially large tan head that quickly settles down to a one-finger height doing some fancy lacing as it does so. The aroma is light for the style, a pleasant smell of fresh coffee with a touch of roasted barley. The mouthfeel is smooth, if a bit thin. It tastes of bitter coffee (like Mom used to make) with runny chocolate and a nutty bitterness. There’s an element of mineral water in the finish that’s distracting and keeps me from rating this higher.

22oz bottle. Black color. Light tan head. Aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Not really of roasted malt but of coffee. Nice refeshing flavor. Very smooth and creamy texture. A wierd aftertaste long in the finish is of natural unbuttered popcorn. Wierd, mostly lots of coffe though. brutalbitter would enjoy this beer!
