22oz bottle: Pours a dark ruby red/black color with med/large light tan head that sticks around forever. Aroma is fairly roasty, notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is malty, fairly roasty, notes of vanilla and caramel, with a fairly siff bitterness in the finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Enjoyed this cappuccino stout after dinner. Pours a very dark chocolate color with a light brown head that dissappears rather quickly. More carbonation than I would have thought. Very easy to drink. Mild flavors of coffee, chocolate and brown sugar with a smokey wood finish. Tasty and delicious. A perfect dessert beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz shared with Brie... this stout has a light and creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is coffee, alcohol, and chocolate. There is some hop flavor present, but it is in the background with the alcohol bite. The delicate flavors blend well with the creamy cappuccino-like mouthfeel.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bottle. Aroma: Roasted coffee and malt, light chocolate, caramel, and some citrus and pine hop notes. Appearance: Dark brown in color with ruby highlights. Khaki head was full and foamy with great retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Coffee, malt, smoke, chocolate, and caramel. Lots of hop flavor on the back end. Pine, citrus, and a bit of grass. Medium bitterness is more hops than roasted grains. A bit of sweetness lingers past the finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of the mouth. Overall: Nice coffee flavors, but the more I drink the more the hops take over. Interesting, but not my favorite.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany-brown body with a small foamy tan head. Smells sweet, cookiesh, with coffee in the background among some toffee and caramel notes. Chocolate flavour with some coffee spritziness and maple sugars. As it finishes one can find some increasing hop flavour. Oily finish.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle. Ink black pour with mahogany hues. Creamy, foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee and roasted malts. As it warmed the true coffee and cappuccino flavors came through, not overpowering, quite enjoyable. Medium bodied and smooth. Another nice brew from Lagunitas.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from bottle. Dark, tan head, decent lacing. Aroma of sweet coffee...I agree with the rater below. I dont really think this tasted like cappuccino at all. However, it was a very decent coffee flavored beer. The sweetness over powered the bitter dark coffee flavor and for me, that was a good thing. This was a very drinkable beer.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I knew very little about this beer when I tried it. While I wouldn’t call it excellent, I would say that is very much what I expected from a "cappucino stout."
This beer poured with a reddish-brown color, with LOTS of tan head. Aroma and flavor were both of coffee, but with a bit of sweetness added. It is a bit like a coffee stout might be, but with less coffee flavor and more sweetness. So, mission accomplished as far as making a beer that tastes as it is named. Lacing on this beer is beautiful, like a sheet on the far side of the glass.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This starts with an aroma of coffee that has been sweetened with sugar. It pours black with red visible when held up to light and the little head that comes is a dark tan, the color of crema from an espresso shot. It has a slight flavor of coffee to it, with a nice long finish. Not my favorite coffee stout, but not a bad one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2007 Bottle (650ml). Shared with mds and tupalev, my bottle. Opaque ruby-black pour, small beige head. Almost burnt thick malt aroma, sweet coffee, black cherry syrup, mild green hops, some alcohol - pretty nice. Taste IS burnt - burnt caramel malt, thick sweetness in the background, not much coffee (more like a turkish coffee) but increasing bitterness in the long finish. Oily, silky mouthfeel, lightly acidic - reminded me of Creme Brulee - very nice.
