Bottle, from the Bottle Barn SR, at JF’s BBQ 15/06/14. Black with a big old tan covering that retains well - she’s a looker! Nose is sweet smelling, roast malt, cappucino froth, chocolate, tar. Taste comprises big coffee grounds, dark roast malted backdrop, light chilli heat, spice, rich chocolate. Medium bodied, easy drinking for ABV, fine carbonation, trace of booze and green pepper licks in the close. Solid coffee driven impy!

22 ounce bottle. Pours a translucent brown color with a reddish hue. Large rocky beige head. Clinging lace. Aroma is bold coffee with notes of herbal hops. Slightly smoky roasted malt as well. Upfront, flavor is French Roast coffee with a dose of cane sugar. Lot’s of coffee flavor throughout. Hides the alcohol well.

Had this one at my favorite local watering hole. It’s billed as made from Sebastopol coffee and packs a wallop without ever letting on that it contains so much ABV. Goes down smooth, finishes bitter (very nice brew). My go-to beer when they don’t have anything else I fancy.

Masterkush7 (501) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 11, 2014
Pours a pitch black with a one finger tan head with some light lacing. Aroma is of coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, caramel, and some molasses. Taste is similar to the aroma with some nice coffee, vanilla cream, caramel, and light coco notes. Has a medium-full body with a creamy, silky mouthfeel, and a slightly bitter, medium-long finish ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not a big coffee fan, but gave it a shot. Smells of roasted coffee. Has a deep opaque color. Has a very strong coffee flavor. Has a mix of milk and sugar. finishes a harsh bitter flavor. It does hide the alcohol fairly well.

Pours to about a finger length head that retains pretty well and leaves creamy rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and chocolate; was expecting some more milk notes with cappuccino, but didn’t notice them as much. Flavor is lots of burnt roast with, again, only the most minor of milk note. A good beer, but not a wower. I was hoping for a little more cappuccino also.

Some decent roast malt but this is a huge coffee bomb. A little too much, enough that the other elements are left behind. Finishes with bitter coffee. Pours black without much head or lacing for a stout. On tap at DC Summerfest.

A very good smooth stout. Not entirely black and enough stout character to get the job done. Coffee adds a great dimension.
