jcweaver (65), VA Beach, Virginia, USA Apr 7, 2008 Poured a very dark brown with a nice thick head from the bottle. Had an aroma of coffee and chocolate. The taste was of chalky coffee with an unpleasantly bitter aftertaste. I love Lagunitas beer was so hoping for more but was disappointed. Pours a nice dark black brown color with a medium sized brown head. Nose is chocolate, coffee beans, and hops. Taste is malty, chocolatey, and of fresh ground java, with a nice ultra bitter finish and bite. Tastes like beer plus cappuccino, which yes I have actually had in the same glass. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Mar 25, 2008 Bottle pours a dark brownish black color with a foamy tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and malted milk. Bitter flavor with taste of coffee, chocolate, blackberries, and roasted malts. Was expecting more of an over the top coffee flavor from Lagunitas but overall I think the mix of flavors blend well together.
