22 oz. bottle poured a dark cola color with a thick one inch layer of tan head diminishing to a ring in the glass with some pooling at the surface. aroma has coffee, sweet malt, dark fruit, molasses, and toffee. mouth feel is on the lighter side for a stout but there is a coating thickness. flavor has coffee, molasses, malts, some interesting sugary dark fruit, and cocoa powder. does have a cappuccino like quality and finishes with some bitters but very smooth. a little light in body but it works and the flavor is very good.

Bottle pours a black I can see through. Head is a light tan with long head retention. Smell like a strong dark coffee beer. Tastes like I’m drinking a coffee beer. Very good.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Sweet aroma with notes of roasted malt, coffee beans and cappuccino. Medium/full body. Sweet flavor with notes of roasted malt, coffee, and a light touch of chocolate. Very good.

Bomber. Pours near black with a thin brown head. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, and espresso. Flavor is of bitter espresso and dark chocolate, fading to a tart/astringent coffee aftertaste. Nice incorporation of coffee flavor, not too overwhelming. A tad thinner than expected, but a good stout.

22 oz. bottle, purchased 11/06. I did nothing exciting for St. Pat’s Day, so I brought up my lowest-gravity stout from the cellar tonight. Solid black body with a short brown stout head. Smell of molasses, slight fruit over coffee base. Perhaps this might compare to a Dark Lord? Taste is a little dry at first. Taste like coffee fresh from a roaster comes in, and slight bitterness of cocoa nibs. Kind of syrupy, as others have noted, but more in texture than sweetness. That all can come across a little harsh, which explains the disparity in ratings. I find this to be pretty rich; not really a lot of coffee buzz; at least not now, and fine mutant stout.

Bottled. Dark ruby, rich firm head. Aroma of coffee and blackberries. Sweet and dense. medium bodied wit somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Coffee is evident, but does not assault, tobacco chimes in. Salty bitterish finish. Lovely flavours, but a bit sticky. I don’t like sugar in my coffee...

Bottle at Beer Bistro in Toronto. Black with beige head. Coffee chocolate aroma was encouraging but flavour didn’t live up to it, not intense enough for me but maybe cappuccino means light. Expected more of a rich body taste.
