dmac (1418), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Feb 8, 2008 22 oz bomber. Pours like a classic stout with pitch black body with ruby edges and a large tight light beige head. Fantastic aroma with lots of sweet chocolate, coffee grounds, a touch of vailla and slight tobacco. bubbly carbonation and mediu bodied that almost leaves a creamy mouthfeel but the finish is to bitter. Flavor is huge let down from the aroma. Overpowering burnt coffee and bitter bakers chocolate. Thought I found a diamond instead it was just a good smelling lump of coal. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Feb 7, 2008 Pours black with a smallish light brown head. Smells of roasted coffee grounds, and malty sweetness. Mild chocolate as well. The flavor has alot of coffee mixed in with a significant chocolate presence. Very creamy and moderately sweet for what it is. Light bitterness in the finish to go with the coffee. The chocolate is left in the aftertaste. Pretty nice sweet stout. Pretty solid. Coffee isnt overdone. Enjoyit (1695), Vadum, Denmark Feb 7, 2008 Dark brown of color with a off-white head. An aroma of coffee, chocolate and tobacco. A flavor of sweet malt, notes of prunes and roasted notes. exadore (92), Sacramento, California, USA Feb 6, 2008 22 oz bottle. Poured a heavy brown, almost black colour, with a light brown head. Nose was of coffee and chocolate, and of course, malt. Doesn’t taste bitter at all, and the coffee flavor is pleasant even as an aftertaste. Overall, it is a good beer. Personally, I like Hoppy Brewing Company’s offering better, but this is a close second. smashteroid (227), USA Feb 6, 2008 Served cold from 22 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin, tan colored head. Aroma was heavy on coffee and chocolate. The flavor was fairly unique, it seemed to have a lot of roasted coffee flavor and a tiny amount of hop bitterness. It had a really nice, smooth finish with good aftertaste. I would consume this one again. k4df4l (154), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 4, 2008 Bottle - pours a dark brown/black with a light mocha head. Aroma of cocoa/chocolates, coffee and malty sweetness. Flavor is moderately roasty with fairly substantial coffee and chocolate notes. Finishes lightly bitter. Moderate mouthfeel/body. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Feb 2, 2008 Pours a dark brown color with light brown head. Aroma is light chocolate, light coffee, and light vanilla. Taste is light chocolate, light roasted coffee, vanilla and light hops. Alcohol is well hidden and this beer finishes quite smooth. Definitely worth a try. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Feb 2, 2008 Pours black with a medium mocha head and some spotty lacing. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, with a bit of chocolate and coffee. Good carbonation, taste is a small amount of chocolate with a bit of toasted coffee. Not as big and bold as one would think.
