Aroma is soft & sweet of roasted malts. Texture is smooth & filling. Very well rounded & taste have loads of bitter coffee. I miss some hop appearance & lesser buttery notes. But overall nice & drinkable! Dry roasted end. Mrthirstyneck (341), Minnesota, USA

Not really coffe i guess more cappucinno flavor which did not mix overly well. the booze was well hidden though and it was good just a bit off i thought SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Opaque black in color that poured a thick head which dissipated to leave some light lacing. The nose was filled with coffee laced with a touch of bourbon, campfire smoke and brandy macerated cherries. In the mouth the coffee and campfire smoke took center stage in a balanced beer that showed off its high IBU’s toward the finish which ended dry. There is no apparant bourbon/brandy in the mouth which may have helped fill out the midpalate and make it a truly outstanding beer. Instead it remains a bit dry and light on its feet. Exactly what I expected, a nice stout that is loaded with coffee. Got some body to it, but not too thick, and the taste doesnt hold back. If I am only going to have one beer to relax, this is a good choice. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 5, 2008 Perfect stout appearance, black body and a thick off-white bumpy head. Aroma of roasted coffee beans and an unexpected Belgian candy sugar note; grape like in nose. Very unique flavor...the first thing to hit me was a warm, salty taste followed closely by almost burnt malt. Good and hearty though, with a solid mouthfeel. I’m not sure if the salt flavor should be there, but it’s an odd addition to an otherwise good stout. djd07 (733), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2008 On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a very dark brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is a strong coffee and dark chocolate. Good lacing on the glass. The taste is of course a strong coffee with a sweet finish. GMUcrew7 (360), Mason, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2008 bottle, pours deep amber brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is mostly malty and coffee, but not as strong as I anticipated. Flavor is mostly malt and coffee, with a hint of dark fruits at the finish. Lighter flavor and body than expected, but not a bad beer. Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Updated: Jan 8, 2008Bottled, consumed on 01/04/08. Dark brown transparent pour from bottle somehow becomes VERY dark brown liquid with a dense tan head that lasts a long time in a glass. Aromas of cherries and chocolate. Soft mouthfeel: a bit thin. Flavor is less intense than expected; some mildly bitter coffee and vaguely sweet fruits. Finish is clean and light with almost no residual flavor save for the ghost of malty chocolate. Nice but far from essential.
