Miver (551), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 3, 2008 Poured very dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma is of roasted coffee, toffee, and chocolate. Taste is very nicely roasted coffee; Not too bittter.Nice dry finish. The body overall is way too thin. Call this one a porter and I’m very impressed.... Call it a stout and I’ll tell you it should be called a porter. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA Jan 2, 2008 What a great beer. Pours jet black with a 1 inch tan head. Aroma is of lots of coffee, roasted malt, and chocolate. Flavor is of roasted coffee with a hint of caramel. Also, the hops and greater abv come into play in the flavor as well.
Great.
1 pt. 0.6 oz. bottle. raiderfost (158), virginia beach, Virginia, USA Jan 1, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. Not bad but very strange. More of a porter i would say. Flavor is coffee coffee coffee coffee and malt. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jan 1, 2008 Sort of a weird one. Pours an unpleasant clear dark brown with a large tan head. Flavor has coffee and some dark fruits in it. Sort of like an english porter with coffee based on the aroma. Flavor leans heavily on the coffee elements with a bit of a tangy finish and some notes of fig. It’s weird, but pretty good. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 1, 2008 22oz bottle. pours dark brown with tan head. nose of coffee and nuts. flavor is really esressoy with nutty and toffee notes. balanced well. a real nice stout. performula (147), Triangle Area, North Carolina, USA Dec 31, 2007 Good smell. Coffee and malt taste. Poast chocolate hints in the beer. Decent flavor but the finish fades rather quickly. Awesome brew at the percentage and value. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 30, 2007 Bottle... Poured deep, nearly black with some amber highlights on the bottom edge. Thick, light brown head. Aroma of coffee beans and toasty malt. The palate swarms your tongue and has a
wonderful alcohol presence that is well balanced. You certainly get those espresso flavors with a nut character, earthy malt, and mild hops to balance it all out. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA Dec 29, 2007 Very dark brown pour with a finger thick clean mocha brown head. Roasted malt and maybe some kind of nut on the nose. Semi-sweet flavor with the true cappuccino flavor coming through.
