Dec 27, 2007 22-oz bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours black with an average, frothy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (coffee, chocolate, toasted grain), light hops (flowers), average yeast (leather) with notes of dark fruit and wood. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Long duration, average sweetness, acidity and bitterness.

Dec 27, 2007 Excitingly average, but good. 22 oz. brown bomber bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep chocolate brown with red highlights. Aromas are of espresso beans with some roasted malts mixed in. Some chocolate aromas as well. Flavors are of a chocolate stout mixed with coffee. Not much in the way of hops.
Decent mouthfeel, kind of slick. Finished somewhat dry. Decent beer overall, but nothing to write home about.

Dec 26, 2007 Lack with amber highlights with a samll light brown head. Coffee and Chocolate aroma. Bitter coffee and some chocolate. Not to balanced. Medium bodied. Not to impressed. I did drink it after a dogfish world wide, so what can you expect.

Dec 23, 2007 I had this at Capital Ale House on tap. The nose was a deep coffee but not as harsh or as burnt as I was expecting. The middle was very mild with a coffee taste throughout, but it wasn’t overdone with coffee. I thought it finished very well with a slight noticeable burnt flavor, but not over the top.

Dec 23, 2007 Sweet smelling stout, pours dark brown/black. The coffee flavor really comes though in the beer. Hints of chocolate as well. Well balanced and one of the better coffee stouts I have had.

The deep dark color and smokey notes coupled with the amazing coffee aroma are wonderful … and it usually leads to a long interesting evening because of the caffeine involved. ;-)

Dec 23, 2007 Color is a deep sable, almost black, with a tan, fine-bubbled head. Aroma is stouty with coffee tones, strong chocolate undertone, and smoky hints. Flavor is rich and stouty and has a strong burnt coffee overtone and hints of chocolate and smoke. It goes down nice and smooth and leaves a nice coffee aftertaste. If you love coffee and beer, this is a brew for you.
