pepsican (884), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Nov 29, 2007 Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Had a nice coffee aroma. Flavor was not as great. Coffee but with odd funky fruits and spoiled cream. Finished nice, thick like you’d expect. Enjoyable but something seemed off. Thanks to Bockyhorsey for this one! kyzr (1120), Belgrade, Montana, USA Nov 29, 2007 Dark brown pour with nice brown head with big roasted coffee bean. Flavor is much the same, with a hint of dried fruit. Body is medium with a good tangy finish. Was suprised to see the higher alcohol. Never really got the warmth of an 8%. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Nov 29, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark brown/black, medium light brown head the dissipates to thin. Aroma is coffee, molasses, toffee. Taste is coffee, some smoke and a little bit of plum like fruit. Finish is bitter and coffee, medium body. Bitterness lingers for a while. Decent, but not great. TheCheeseMan (538), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2007 Pours a deep brown, borderline black color. Aroma is as the name would suggest, coffee. The coffee while evident, is well balanced and not over powering in any way. There is a nice roasted grain aroma, with a hint of smokiness wafting upwards at the end. The flavor is not as aggressive as I anticipated, but is a bit on the sweet side, with a dark fruit flavor (which I finf odd) coming through on the finish. Pretty decent, though not spectacular. danhitch (17), USA Nov 27, 2007 Bomber: Poured black with a slightly tan head. The aroma had a lot going on. I smelled coffee, chocolate, dried fruit, and alcohol. It tasted like spent coffee grains, with chocolate and roasted flavors in the background. The finish had a prune taste to it. Overall, I thought it was just alright. DrHomolka (726), Columbus, Ohio, USA Nov 27, 2007 Bomber. Pours brown black with a light tan head and good lacing. Aroma is strong roastiness with a definite coffee coponent. Mmmm coffee. Coffee is nice. Coffee is extremely evident in the taste as well, thankfully. Creamy, full bodied mouthfeel. Perhaps a little one dimensional with the coffee overtaking any other flavor characteristics but hell, I don’t mind. This is way better than I thought it’d be. Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 27, 2007 Black. As black as black can be. Dense beige head. Aroma is very heavy on the coffee, but with a nice citrus note, as well. Flavor also has a lot of coffee, with some nice chocolate and molasses in the back ground. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA Nov 26, 2007 Pours a very dark chestnut brown color, almost black. Thin half-cm tan head. Nutty and bitter coffee on the aroma, with a roasty undertone. The bitter coffee is more up front in the taste, but is smooth and not caustic. Decent cofee roast finish. Not the most coffee-ish or roasty of the coffee stouts, but a nice brew.
