kkearn (994), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 30, 2007 Bottle. pours deep brown, with a one finger tan head. Strong chocolate malt aroma, with some coffee. Flavor is again primarily chocolate malt, i feel that the coffee plays a supporting role. Some hops are also present in the background. Finishes bitter, with hops and dark chocolate. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Jun 30, 2007 bomber from Saarlander, thanks Aaron. aroma of coffee and some lactose. flavor is more coffee, some chocolate and malt. I like coffee in beer when it contributes to the flavor not when it dominates like this one. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jun 28, 2007 The Dan Journal #58. Tasted November 2006. 22oz bomber. Opaque with a tan head. Dry brownie coffee nose. Touches of bread with a slight hazelnut aroma. Full bodied with a coffee and vanilla flavor. Bittersweet chocolate and a touch anise. Mellow cappuccino flavor. Not my favorite style. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2007 [295-20070503] 330mL (c/o blankboy, w/ him, GregClow, jerc, mds). Faint chocolate malt and roasted beans aroma. Dark black red body with a quick light red tan bubbly head. Bitter coffee and malt roast flavour. Full Body. Funny label story, blending is good, pretty solid beer. ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 10, 2007 Appearance: Pours out a translucent, dark brown body with a dense, wispy beige-colored head.
Smell: The aroma is primarily milk chocolate and caramel. Soft notes of coffee that are so light it’s nearly nonexistent.
Taste: Overall, the flavor is moved by sweet, chocolaty malts. Hints of coffee and vanilla. A dry, roasted astringent bitterness rounds out the finish.
Mouthfeel: Lackluster medium-thin body, with a fizzy carbonation.
Drinkability: This is all wrong. This beer does little to deserve the label "cappucino." The pained lack of richness and coffee flavor was a real letdown. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jun 8, 2007 The color is black/brown and i can see through the beer. The head is creamy and nice. The aroma has nice notes of coffee and the flavour has a lot of coffee, a light sweetness, light hints of licorice and a light bitterness, that develops further in the finish. It’s a very charming stout, it’s light but still it has a lot of body. Thank you Linus Stick/Alan for this nice stout! 2317
cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 7, 2007 Rated 5/5/07: What an awesome and aggressive stout, I am impressed after enjoying a bomber of this. Opaque brown pour with a massive foamy tan head that diminishes to a constant 1/4" thick leaving very little lacing. Slap your face aroma of freshly brewed cafe (not that cheap common coffee ;) with rich roasted malt and a heaping dose of bakers chocolate. Medium-thick body not as rich as a good impy but it’s still no slouch. Bitter finish and very smooth. Flavor suits me just right. Strong and bold with a well received bitterness. Gourmet chocolates, robust coffee, and.......pacific northwest hop additions. Leave it to these guys to throw in a handful of flavoring and bittering hops just to try and catch me off guard. Well played and it works marvelously in this brew. Yeah, this stout rocks hard! ericheld (3), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA does not count Jun 5, 2007 22 oz. Bomber- Nice dark pour almost black with hints of deep red when held to the light. Tan foamy head didnt stick around too long. Thick and full bodied all the way through with average carbonation and a slightly bitter roasty finish. Coffee and chocolate flavor in equal amounts and a slight taste of caramel. Very good.
