PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Mar 12, 2007 Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse. - 22 oz bottle. Dark ruby red to black pour with a nice creamy mocha colored head that leaves a healthy coat of lacing. Faint chocolately aroma with some fresh lake water accents. Flavor has some coffee notes, bittersweet choolate and decent roastiness. Mouthfeel is extremely thin for the syle and ABV. Expected much more from Lagunitas - usually much more solid than this. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Mar 11, 2007 Sampled at room temperature. Strong alcohol aroma with a hint of roastedness. Black color, large light tan head that quickly fades to nothing. Nutty start that finishes with an alcohol bite. Mildly watery in the begining. Not alot of coffee taste for a "cappuccino" stout. Alittle creamy. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Mar 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours a black color with longlasting creamy tan head. Roasted malty aroma with hints of coffee and chocolate. Sweet roasted malty bitter chocolate coffee flavor. Sweet roasted finish with a bitter aftertaste. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 10, 2007 Trade with kmweaver. Deliciously thick creamy head on black. Strong sugary coffee aroma. Great sugary strong coffee flavour. Delicious but possibly too sweet. OldGrowth (1405), North Carolina, USA Mar 8, 2007 bottle, from trade with shp555. Ok aroma. Sweet & malty. Some coffee, chocolate. little rubbing alcohol/medicine thing, hints of peat. Clean orangy brown color, ok head, minor lacing. Bittersweet flavor, Like aroma though I get a better coffee sense than from the aroma, knd of musty though. Medium to thick body, creamy oily mouthfeel that had a fizziness about it. Bitterdry finish. I got bored of this half way through, only my catholic guilt saved this from the drain. Didn’t think the cappuccino came through that well in the aroma or flavor. Boutip (2333), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 7, 2007 Bottle courtesy of Shp555: Poured a medium black color ale with a medium dark brown foamy head with good retention. Aroma of coffee is dominating (what a surprise!!!) with some subtle bitter roasted malt. Taste is also dominated by the coffee with some roasted malt. Body is a bit light IMO with some adequate carbonation. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA Mar 3, 2007 Nose of heavy coffee & berry, with some alcohol & medicine. Pours with a beautiful cascade. Very dark brown with garnet highlights. The tall tight wiggly creamy rocky head is mostly lasting with nice lace. The brew starts with a malty sweetness and a touch of bitterness. The sweet middle gives way to a huge coffee bitterness at the finish as the brew warms. The medium to full body is soft & creamy, the finish feels slightly alcoholic. Gave me the itis! rmussman (905), California, USA Mar 2, 2007 A very nice stout. Pour is very very black. Head was thick and lingered for a long time. Mouthfeel was very smooth with a coffee aftertaste. Flavor is a strong stout with a smooth coffee flavoring. A very very nice stout.
