Pours rich and dark. Healthy head. Coffee aromas are there but not that overpowering. Quite good.

Bomber. Pours dark brown to almost black with nice mocha head, nice lacing on glass. Aroma is of deep roasted malts. The flavor is deep and rich with coffee, dark roasted malts and mild chocolate, licorice. Alcohol is hidden but only appears on the end.

A bit boozy. Medium roast coffee, toasted bread, coffee liquor and milk. Pretty strong coffee bitterness. A bit light for a stout, but good feel.

Pours reddish black with a small tan head that’s gone in a flash. Aroma is very weak--roast, coffee beans, some hops. Taste is malt-forward and sweet, with the coffee adding a little dryness to the finish. Nothing to write home about, but at $4.49 a bomber who cares? Well worth the price, like most of their brews.

Has a really intense coffee flavor. Not my favorite but was still good especially for the price.

Tap at Stanley?s NE. Accidentally poured into pint glass. Dark brown. Initial one finger of head that dissipated rather expeditiously. Aroma is muted coffee. Taste is very hard sell coffee with a lingering bitterness that really over-stays its welcome. There is a spice element that seems out of place. No balance. They went for the cappaccino and it?s not hidden. Wow. Not feeling this one.

Tap at stanleys. In pint glass but probably should have been in goblet with commonmac. Dark brown with one finger off white head. Good lacing. Subtle aroma . Sharp coffee bitterness to start then a long lingering sweet and bitter dry hit . Spicy. Taste lasts very long. Nothing subtle here. I wanted some more balance. Not super drinkable.

Pours dark (dark red up against the light) with a nice light brown head. Head retention is good. Cappuccino smell is not over powering with a well balanced bitterness, spice, light smoke and malt. Lingering taste of coffee with a slight oily feel that covers the mouth. This is well writhing my top 5 coffee stouts.

[2/14/15] Draught at Lagunitas in Petaluma. Black with a tan head. Big coffee aroma, roasty and a bit “green”. Bittersweet flavor, coffee-ish and roasty, with a bit of chocolate. Full-bodied. Good stuff.

Slightly opaque, deep brown. Almost no head. Earthy, very subtle deep berry, coffee. Slight milky sweetness in the nose. Quite a lot of roasty bitterness, some mild underlying sweetness. Pretty thick body, decent amount of acidity and effervescence. Really coats the palate, very long finish. Good.

Poured from the bomber, this one says 8.9% abv not sure which year that makes it. Was far less sweet than I expected (good) especially for a stout, a little spicy actually. Plenty strong (good). Didn’t mind paying $4 for this.
