COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale contains no actual copper but we’re pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lots’a nice caramel malt though... Originally 5.9% alcohol by volume, currently

Brassy body and tight velvety head. Piney nose plus some candied malts underneath. Flavor includes caramel, cloves, pine and a touch of kerosene. Slick feel, almost like liquor.

Poured a clear amber with a thin dissipating off white head. Caramel aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet with a nice balance of malt and hops. Light alcohol finish. Decent but a little thin.

12 oz bottle-copper hue (well, the name says it!) with minimal white head. subtle aroma of earthy malts with a touch of spice. Slightly thin body for a 7.7 brew. lots of buttery malts on the flavors-earthy hop finish. This is a unique ASA, more like an ESA. I was expecting a hop monster, but i was very suprised by this one.

12oz bottle. 05.25.04 Dark amber, med head, no lace...ok, some lace. Odd, toasted wheat bread aroma. Some metal? Must be the copper. Soft and sweet like tea with sugar. Nice, quick finish. Tingles briefly with hops at the end.

Bottle. A bit too tinny for me. The hops are there and all that, piney grapefruity flavour, rusty bitterness, not round enough, edgey in flavour.

Clear amber/copper coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of hops, pit fruit, malt and some subtle spices. Medium to Full-bodied; Spicey taste up front with some hops noticeable and a good malt backbone. Aftertaste shows some malt and alcohol, but little else. Overall, a good beer-definately one to try! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia and sampled it on 26-May-2004.

Hazy amber, dense beige head.Light malt nose. Malt flavor has an unpleasant bitterness not from hops.

Copper, thick white head. Cotton candy, malty, light citrus and hawaiian sweet bread in the nose. Flavor is similar, but add a few hints of candied apple, malt, spice, and light citric hops to round it out. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, tangy malty finish. It grew on me about half way through the pint. Could use more in the smell department, but still worth a try. And BTW...7.7%...couldn’t tell..

Nice amber-copper hue below a heady head with nice and frothy lace. Smelled fresh and malty. Mouthfeel was nice; creamy and thick, yet lightish and easy to drink. Malts were rich and flavorful. Hops were there, but it wasn’t very bitter. Big notes of citrus and pine. It was actually kind of tart and somewhat sour. I’d give credit to the big grapefruit flavors for hiding the alcohol. Good beer.
