This ale contains no actual copper but we’re pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lots’a nice caramel malt though... Originally 5.9% alcohol by volume, currently

Pours a cream, one finger-head that goes slowly leaving a decent lace. Nice clear amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is slightly hoppy. Starts with a mix of hops and malt, finish has a hoppy/soapy edge. Some bitter aftertaste but not bad. $1.60 for a 12oz from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Bottled. Lagunitas Copper Ale. Copper colour. Candy(tidbits), caramel and butter in aroma. Flavour is buttery, caramelly with a light roasty touch. Rich malty. Would never had guess it’s 7,7.

Pours a beautiful copper color. Rich malty aroma with an orange twang. Lightly sweet malty flavor with some grainy edginess. Rich and full body. You would never guess the alcohol content.

Poured a medium copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Tiny and thin particles. Aromas of caramel, sweet malts and light citrus. Tastes of caramel, citrus, fruits and toffee. On the sweeter side. Smooth body.

Poured a copper color with little head. Features that strong heavy hops aroma that seems characteristic of West Coast beers. However, there seems to be a somewhat buttery presence to the aroma as well. The flavor displays the hops you’d expect but also offers a lot of vanilla as well. Definately a tasty beer worth trying.

Copper colored with a bit of head. Malt aroma with some hops. Body is well balanced between malt and hops, with a slight malt predominance. If it were a little less sweet it would be better I think.

Poured a nice dark amber, small head. Personally I found this too malty and sweet.

Dark orange brown with thin white head. Mostly malty aroma, some earthy hops. Overall this beer is heavy on the malts, sweet, lingering sticky (almost chalky) aftertaste; in many ways resembles a brown ale. Somewhat bland, while at the same time there is something unidentifiably appealing here in the finish.

Mild American hop nose with sweet and leathery malt aroma. Clear copper with shy white head that recedes immediately to ring. Fair, sweet malt flavour with some orange-like hop notes and a light bitterness though malt is certainly dominant. Dry, medium body with strong carbonation. Tulip glass, cellar temp. Bottle (Half Time, Mar. 2005).
