3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy orange/copper body with a small, quickly dissipating head. Aroma is dominated by sweet, fruity malt with background notes of hops, alcohol, and yeast. Has a cheesy nose to it. Flavor is smooth and understated. If I didn’t see the 7.7 abv here I wouldn’t believe it. Palate is mostly malt but finishes with a nice dose of hops bitterness. Overall, This is a strong beer that I could see drinking straight from the bottle. I’ll give that a try sometime.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light bottle conditioning gives this a light misty orange color with an oily head and light lacing. Nose of rich fruity malts, toast, unboiled maple syrup, mint and a light chocolatey edge. Taste has a bitter edge but a medium bodied malty balance that crashes against the bitterness like a wave retaining wall, containing all of it; the bitterness holds strong. Dry strong finish with a well hidden abv level. Very nice to drink, very malty and tasty but the dry and bitter are too much to let go.

Not sure of the age of this as it was from a friend. Nice and malty and rich with hops rising through to end in a lovely finish. Simple and elegant at the same time. Not sure what the name had evoked, but this isn’t what I had expected. I enjoy Lagunitas and this is no exception.

Dark amber brown color, small head. Yeasty hops nose. Medium bitter hops taste / dusty and dry. Somehow it tasted young.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a copper color with a medium sized off white sticky head and nice lacing on the glass. Sweet caramel and buttery malts, light citrus, and a strange vegetable aroma. Heavy on the caramel malts, light bitterness, fruity, sweet, buttery malt taste. Alcohol very well masked.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
the warm orange of a jackolantern’s glow. along with some nuage to it’s peachy tobacco barn red, this brew is a very nice pour, dignified further with an ample collar of foam the color of stretched caramel. aroma has the autumny feel of hot sun on dry leaves, with orange zest, and pie crust. gorgeous flavor of sweet buttery malts-- with a bit of flour this could be baked into a fine breakfast pastry-- you could dip apples in this and caramelize them. orange pekoe with a half shot of smooth canadian whiskey. from that tea-like effect the hops emerge and drone on in a lingering grapefruit epilogue.
