COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale contains no actual copper but we’re pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lots’a nice caramel malt though... Originally 5.9% alcohol by volume, currently

Crisp, and nicest when cold. Caramel nose and flavor. Solid bitterness and plenty of sweetness.

Copper pour with a sand coloured foamy head. Aroma is caramel, bread, mild citrus. Flavour of sweet malt. Not overly complex but good.

Bottle purchased at Grand Ave Liquors. Poured into pint glass for the college basketball championship. Reddish amber. Head presence. Not a lot of lacing. Understated malty sweetness with a hoppy end serving as the Lagunitas signature. Really impressive mouthfeel with a full bouquet of flavor. Definitely with another purchase.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours like a copper ale should. Nose is sticky toffee, pear and grassy. Taste is very resinous and sticky with loads of toffee biscuit, banana, oats and vanilla. Very sessionable malt bomb. Solid drop

Bottle: it pours copper with a light tan head. Aromas I get are brown sugar and caramel. The taste is very nice...interesting... It’s a solid caramel and bready flavor that is immediate smacked out of the way by a strong bitter citrus flavor. Unique and definitely worth trying.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a clear red colored body with a foamy two finger lumpy white head that lasted for thirty seconds and slowly died to a half finger coating the top of the body. Though the body was fairly clear, no carbonation was seen rising. Some nice foamy ringy lacing graced the sides of the glass. The smell was centered around caramel malts, a bit of light toffee all mixed in an earthy sort of way. The taste was the same ingredients from the aromas blended very nicely. On the palate, she sat at/about a medium almost closer to heavy with nothing harsh on the tongue. Overall, well once again another Lagunitas brew impressing me that I would have more than another.

Strong and thick. Nice to drink and nice features. Black and extremely hoppy but in a proper way.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 2/26/2014. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy orange copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, grapefruit, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, slight pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of citrus/floral hops and caramel/bready malts; with good strength. Taste of orange zest, lemon zest, grapefruit, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, slight pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Slight amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon/orange zest, grapefruit, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of citrus/floral hops and caramel/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/hop balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice amber ale. All around good balance of citrus/floral hops and caramel/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

A- Pours a deep amber color with a small, eggshell head. S- Faint malty caramel aroma. T- Light fruits, peach and orange which are rounded out with a sweet toasted malt character. M- Medium bodied with medium carbonation. D- Easy beer to drink. Didn’t necessarily stand out in any way but I enjoyed it.
