Backlogged bottle from Tröls. Obviously copper coloured with a strong hint of caramel, dried fruits and a hint of floral notes.

Trying a few of Lag’s brews this evening. This is a pretty good amber--nice color and malty flavor. Caramel sweetness with some biscuit tones; hop presence is noticeable.

Clear amber pour with fair soapy white head. Aroma of vegetal caramel. Flavor is caramel malt and green foresty hops with a slight twinge of metallic. Pretty hoppy/bitter for an amber, but not overly sweet either. Has quite the bitter bite on the tail. I think i appreciate the story of the name more than the actual beer.

Bottle to pint. Looks good; a transparent copperish orange with thin foamy head somewhere between off-white and light beige. Smells malty with notes of dark fruit, caramel and bitterness. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Decent, but forgettable.

One of my favorites from this brewery. Some of their beers are a little too sweet for me. This one starts with an aroma dominated by alcohol, floral, toasty notes. The medium bitterness, medium body, creamy texture, and aged copper color make this one of my go to local beers.

Copper ale by Lagunitas. Hoppy and just a tad bitter. Crisp and refreshing, but a little too flat for my tastes.

12oz into a magic hat lucky kat pint, Pours a hazy brown copper infused amber. Head is small and faint, bubbles and barely any lacing. Aroma is nice and thick malty, floral stance, musty brown soil, finishing with a hop slap. Taste is a murky mix of melon, mirrored malts, and mingaling hops. Must be mainly a majestic copper ale that is similar to a hoppy pale ale with a vibrant malt side. Boozy in the aroma as well, but at 6.75 it can be maintained. Ripe orange omits a nod to the action as well as tender canteloupe and some sawdust. Theres a funky mix of sweet and sour sauce in the hop/malt combo that is both mysterious and enjoyable. The lagunitas taste is there, but something is missing, maybe a hop blast or an additional 3.0% abv. Maybe so, maybe not.

Nice clean flavor, great cooper color and from Lagunitas so worth trying. Pour in a cold glass mug and enjoy. Goes great with a burger.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep mahogany colored beer with a medium foamy eggshell head that lasts a bit. Nose of dough and slight caramel with a light astringent backdrop. Flavor is definitely stronger with a base of caramel malt immediately overpowered by a punch of citrus hops that builds in intensity until that’s all you taste, which is a shame. The flavors are there, but they are not balanced in a way that lets them all shine. Still, a decent beer.

Poured a large head with big white bubbles but didn’t hold. Minimal carbonation and lacing. Color is a nice clear copper/amber. Has a sweet smell with hints of spices and fruit. Creamy and smooth but somewhat bland flavor compared to the aroma. The end has a very bitter finish. Pretty good beer but a little lacking in the flavor department I would drink it again but wouldn’t seek it out.
