4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, USA - OCT 24, 2007
Muggy looking dark honey gold. Small fluffy capping of off-white/lightly yellowed foam. Once faded it keeps a solid skim always present. Lacing is lightly sticking in a few spots and broken strings.
Aroma is muggy sweet with dullish citric notions of lemon, grapefruit, orange, and melon. A pithy dryness levels it off with a mild pine sense and some flowery hop oils.
Taste is developed well in a lightly gooey maltedness of tropical citrusy stuff. Wrapped around it is a nice display of fluffy pithyness of orange and lemon. Delicatley flowery and somewhat oily, perhaps a touch of honey, but most definately pithy. Lots of orangey stuff tanging it up, juicing it down, and squeezing it into the palate. Lightly toasted parts sneak through as it warms. Finish is easy-going on the bitterness, quite tame in that respect. It has a certain pithy/piney pull to it as it fades with orange oils, but never is a burden to handle.
Firm, medium bodied feel, creamy with a slight snap and crunch of citrusy hop and carbonation. Lightly toasted with an oily background and a frontal area that seems to always stay present of citrus orangey pith and dryness.
A nice drinker of an ale here. Good depth and hop character throughout, as it always keeps interesting with subtle layers of toasted citrusy stuff. Solid stuff.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 RyanK (69) - Rhode Island, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Brew pours a light, clear and watery copper, it has a large white foam head that is quick to dissipate. Smells strongly like dough, yeast and some hops. Has light hops, good carbonation, and is actually not so watery on the palate. Carmel malt is pretty weak and so are the hops, not much flavor just a good ale for drinking in any season. Finishes a little bitter nothing special but not bad
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BeebopToledo (4) - - MAY 27, 2012 does not count
Poured from a 12oz bottle. Slight head (which I personally find appealing) and very coppery color. More malty than hoppy, though a hoppy presence is noticed at the finish. A very full bodied mouthfeel. slightly smoky, but toast, coffee, nutty flavors are present.
Not a bad beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 gunnar (2644) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAY 17, 2012
Bottle from Ølkonsortiet. Pours deep copper with a moderate sized off-white head.Aroma is strong malty, bread and caramel and some nice piney and herbal hops. Taste is piney hoppy, very well balanced maltyness, chocolate and caramel. Low carbonation, filling mouthfeel, a good beer indeed.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scipio (189) - Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Pours a red with a thin white head. Aroma has a floral feeling, with some malty undertones. Has some fruits in there as well. To me, strawberry and orange. But it is all very subtle. The taste contains these fruits and citrus, but on the end has a bit of a nutty flavor. Well balanced beer all around. I tried this several years ago and was disgusted. I was genuinely surprised and happy with this today.

Fairly disappointed in this beer. Was excited to try and it is enjoyable to an extent. Good color and aroma. Not much else to say. Will probably never buy again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Darwenus (98) - Virginia, USA - MAY 7, 2012
Copper colored (duh) and not much head to speak of. The aroma is slight, the flavor is slightly bitter and thin. Citrus up front, a little bit of ginger, then a big, IPA-like hoppy finish. Not bad, but not for me.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 andyhwcinc (929) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a nice Sunday night after a 4 mile run while watching Game of Thrones. Appearance is basically copper brown, pretty clear, rich white head upon first pour. Aroma is sweet and caramel malty. Taste is just pure caramel malt, slightly sweet, the finish is somewhat dry which is unique for the style. Lagunitas makes better beers, but that’s not to say that this one is bad. It’s ok.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mcmisko (279) - New York, USA - APR 26, 2012
Pours copper with small to no head. Smells floral. Taste of sweet caramel malts with citrus hops and a little pepper or spice. Med-light bodied. Little carbonation. After taste is dry but not bitter. Not to interesting, but a good brew.
