COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale contains no actual copper but we’re pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lots’a nice caramel malt though... Originally 5.9% alcohol by volume, currently

It’s OK. You can’t taste the alcohol. Wants to be an amber, but not hoppy enough. Kinda middle-of-the-road in a solid sort of way. Not carbonated enough.

A bottle from Craft Beer Base. Another solid beer from Lagunitas. I’ve never been blown away by their beers but I’ve never been dissapointed either, they make good beer. This poured a nice copper color with an off-white head. It had a spicy malt aroma. The flavor was rich & piquant with a bitter caramel finish. Good.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a thin cream head. Aroma and taste is nutty and sweet caramel malt. Solid.

Allow me to begin by saying that I feel the overall rating of 89 this beer receives is much too low given the blending of the many facets it showcases. It pours a gorgeous copper color, but the khaki head dissipates way too quickly. Otherwise, this would be an attractive pour. A bit of Chardonnay and dark fruit on the nose. The mouthfeel is extraordinary. The light oiliness blends well with the carbonation, avoiding localization of either. Cranberry and cherry emerge as the dominant flavors. Lightly bitter hoppiness presents seemlessly toward the finish. A magnificently engineered beer.

Deep amber pour with clingy white head. Aroma of caramel malt and bread. Flavor is sweet caramel malt earthy hops and a hinto citrus. A sweet finish. Medium bodied and a reasonably smooth carbonation.

12 ounce bottle, but says 6.75% abv. Pours a nice red copper with a two inch beige head that lasts. Taste is of malt, caramel, sugar, some and some hops. Similar malty aroma. Has a decent, wet body. The finish is mostlty clean and then a bitter and dry. Good, but not great.

Full bodied, perfectly balanced and smooth on the palate. Has a nice hoppiness which is evenly backed up back just the right amount of malt. The finish is almost chewy. I was very surprised by this brew!

Poured a clear copper color with a big, frothy, light tan head and a slight amount of carbonation. Good lacing left on the glass all the way down. Had aromas of butterscotch, a bit of syrup and vanilla, and malt. Was really sweet and malty all the way down. The mouthfeel was slick and sticky, and a butterscotch aftertaste lingered for a while. A must try for malt lovers!

Bottle. Pours copper with thick white head that slinks away to lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, vanilla. Taste is roasted toasted caramel malt, slight resin bitterness, cereal sweetness, biscuit and toffee on the finish. Body is silky, slight crisp carbonation.

Frothy head that won’t quit. Robust red brownish color. Smells piney citrusy. Tastes floral and cerealy carmel. A delicious exposition of hop flavor without turning harsh. Light to mid palate.

These guys know how to make exciting beer. In addition to my two favourite US IPAs, they have this delicious Bitter. Lively, flavourful, not too mellow, not awfully hopped, just crisp and perfectly balanced. Funny, it does have a bit of a metallic taste, which is just fine. I love it!
