| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2009 22oz from Rodman’s, D.C. Slightly dull pour, muddy brown and with an uninspiringly minimal body/carbonation (I’m tempted to say that this relates to the relatively uninspiring album of choice here, but I’ll demur). Anyways, a soft aroma of chocolate and, more prominently, molasses. Thick and creamy mouthfeel like a milk stout with very sharp blackstrap flavors. I think if the pepper had been more prominent, they could’ve had something distinctive. As is, an average stout. AmEricanbrew (2021), Almost, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Dark brown with a tan head. Roasty malt aroma with some brown sugar. Medium body. Sweet flavors of brown sugar, with pit fruit and cocoa. Lightly bitter finish. This is a stout, yeah, and Zappas music was mainstream. BrownDogBeer (50), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2009 22 oz Bottle. Pours a dark brown to black with a slightly tan head with good lacing. Aroma of caramel and coffee and chocolate with a hint of citrus. Very ight in the body for a stout. Taste of roasted malt and chocolate. Oakes (8172), Beyond the Great Firewall, China
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Murky dull brown. Light dark fruits and a hint of chocolate in the nose. Fairly light. Slightly rank character. Some chile noted but this is thin, going nowhere stuff. Yikes. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Bomber from Canals in Lawrenceville. Pours like motor oil and supports a dense dark brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate and something else I still haven’t figured out. Flavor of dark chocolate, caramel, and sweet malt. As with just about every other Lagunitas brew, there were other flavors flying about that were impossible to pin down and that didn’t necessarily play nice with one another all the time. An interesting though somewhat odd concoction. SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Bottle from Keg N Bottle #2: Pours a dark color of the brown family and creates a rocky patch of foam. Faint smell of roasted down malt and chocolaty sweetness for an aroma. The flavor ends up empty and hollow with only a minor tasting of sweet chocolate. Not impressed with any area of this stout.
