3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Tylerís, Durham. Great to see so many quality craft breweries putting thought into well-balanced session beers, and this is one of the finer examples. Nice light orange pour, billowy carbonation. Dry hops and citrus in the nose, giving an impression of overall crispness. Certainly borne out in the light, elegant flavors. Plenty of depth and complexity though, all the traits of an IPA at sub-5%. Kudos.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle, Whole Foods Columbus. Straw color with a medium, white, frothy head; head dissipates into a ring quickly but leaves plenty of lacing, and head is revived easily with swirling. Aroma massively grapefruit and pine. Flavor... boy, this is an odd one... taste is instant pineapple; then, grapefruit, pine, lemon, oregano, possibly juniper. Palate medium-thin but quite frothy in the mouth. Surprising amount of flavor for the low level of alcohol. Maybe a few more of these and I could rate this higher a point or two higher, but itís just so unusual that Iím struggling with that. That said, a beer like this at 4.65% abv really makes me wonder why Bud Light exists.
