Sometimes you want a beer, then you realize how much crap you need to do before you call it a day. This is it. Nicely dosed with Big, Round Hop Flavors and a Toasty Malt Foundation to satisfy your every need. But it still lets you stay in the game to do what needs to be done. Yup.

Bottle. Nose is highly resinous with lovely heavy grapefruit rind, some grapefruit and orange juice, and tropical leanings (including pineapple and a touch of mango). Medium melon, and pine is also strong and doubles up on the very minor caramel character. Super awesome hop nose for this gravity. Pours clear, very pale yellow with slightly above-average carbonation and a soapy bright white head. Medium-strong bitterness and a very dry medium body, solid if wallflower malt, light soap from the hops and a touch of astringency in the finish, but thatís in keeping with the citrus rind theme. Super clean and drinkable, Zesty and fresh, light wood through the finish where it meets saltiness, does have a momentary feeling of hollowness here and there but on the whole is something Iíd really like to see other breweries doing with IPAs (and itís not like most Lagunitas beers, to boot!).

Bottle on the beach at Asilomar.

Earthy, leafy hops atop grainy malt. Toast. Decent but not a standout in the genre.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours pale yellow with a white head. Taste citrus, pine, crisp. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This has a lot of fresh pine aroma. It is thin and the alcohol is on the low side, but it is a vehicle for a load of green, oily hop flavor. Pretty easy and sessionable - it reminded me of a couple of other recent releases, like Founders All Day IPA and Stone Go To IPA.

Pours pale yellow-gold with a medium white head. Aroma is tropical fruits & citrus - nice bouquet. Taste is the same as the aroma with mellow bitterness in the mid and a sneaky tangerine flavor at the very end. Like it.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, light yellow with a three finger, white head. Aroma is bright with mild, herbal notes, grass, and slight pine/tropical fruits/lemon citrus. Taste is balanced. Kind of like a herbal/grassy/piney/lemon citrus with a bit of toasted bread and a short aftertaste. Low-medium body with a medium carbonation. Clean and refreshing in the mouth. Overall a tasty session beer. A bit more grassy/herbal/toasted bready than I usually go for but it is good.

NightTime...DayTime! Nightime...DayTime! That wonít make any sense to you if you havenít seen the BBC America Animal specials. On to the review. Bottle. A: Cloudy gold with a white cloud head. Lacing. N: Grapefruit, spruce, biscuit and cracker. Blood oranges and earth. Leafy. Not an overly complex nose, but it sure is nice. T: Quiet bitterness that evolves into something needling. Light malt base. M: Sharp carbonation, light body. No alcohol as one would hope. O: Lagunitas continues to give us solid, enjoyable beer. I mean, this could be closer to Sucks, but all their IPAs could. (And thatís not really a fair comparison given the malt/hop bill differences.)
