Sometimes you want a beer, then you realize how much crap you need to do before you call it a day. This is it. Nicely dosed with Big, Round Hop Flavors and a Toasty Malt Foundation to satisfy your every need. But it still lets you stay in the game to do what needs to be done. Yup.

12oz bottle- straight outta the bottle! I wanted to test this brew’s ability to match it’s unofficial purpose of an all day, low alcohol pale ale that doesn’t kill your palate over time and/or get you too loose too fast as a sixer of a typical pale would. Did some day drinking and treated it as a high quality hop-based craft beer to utilize as a sixer of Budweiser except of the impressive craft variety. It’s now my official football Sunday beer. Nice hop character on the nose from the Mosaics, light bodied and mellow hops on the finish but great flavor. Great idea! Love that I can come to expect outside the box brews like this from Tony & Co!

Bottled September 11, 2012.

A: This is an excellent looking pale ale that is textbook for the style. Day Time has a pale golden body with sparse carbonation bubbles lazily floating to the thick white head. The head could use better retention, but freshly poured this looks beautiful.

S: Oh what a wonderful tropical hop aroma with mangoes, pineapple, and nectarines and a lightly toasted malt background. This is the best smelling pale ale I’ve had.

T: The hop bitterness asserts itself from the start reminding me a bit of lemons and provides a moderate bitterness, some tropical flavors hang in the background and a very lightly toasted dryness comes through a bit towards the end.

M: Light with light carbonation.

O: This is an excellent session pale ale and Lagunitas would be silly to not make this year round. Well done.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 8/21/2012. Pours fairly crystal clear golden amber color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some good foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, pineapple, orange zest, pine, floral, grass, mango, and light herbal. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity. Taste of grapefruit, pineapple, bread, pine, floral, grass, orange zest, and light herbal spiciness. Fair amount of spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, floral, grass, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Great balance of bitterness/sweetness; with a great complexity of hop flavors. No cloying bitterness at all after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly crisp and smooth mouthfeel that is very nice. Almost zero alcohol presence on the finish as expected for under 5%. Overall this is a fantastic session IPA! Great amount of balaced flavors; and very smooth to drink as expected. Highly enjoyable as expected from Lagunitas.

Bottle. Amber with a sinking but lasting white head. Beefy hop nose with strong citrus. On one hand it makes me appreciate maltier bigger iPAs but on the other I like the goal; hops without an ABV that stops the day. Citrus and citra. Light delicate malt could have called it Quaff.

Slightly hazy straw gold. Heavy aroma of deep pine with a bit of garlic and onion. Flavor is more delicate with moderate pine bitterness and citrusy biscuit malt. Very light and refreshing.

Bottle. Crystal clear bright gold pour with a small white head. Very nice tropical fruit / grapefruit aroma. Light and crisp palate. Nice carbonation and hop zing on the taste. Easy drinking, very solid. Lagunitas gets it done once again.

Bottle. Is this a great beer? No. Is this a pretty damn impressive product at 4.65% ABV? I think so. Pours clear pale golden with a small white head and minimal lacing. Aroma is grapefruit and pine. Flavor is the same with a strong herbal note, lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Body is light and overall a bit watery, but hey, its 4.65%!

Bottle. Fluffy white head with good lacing, clear light marigold hue. Catty, some tropical fruit, and grapefruit. Flavor is quite catty, nicely dank and grapefruit with drying earthy finish. Lighter body and a touch cottony. Solid

Bottle. A solid golden color with a diminished white head. A relatively strong hop aroma with grapefruit, lemon, and dry grass. It has a nice little bitter bite and goes down smoothly. The body is relatively light, which was expected. I like it. This beer fills a great niche.
