ericnixon (711), Lenox, Massachusetts, USA Nov 14, 2006 Dark yellow color. Big hoppy aroma at first. After a while of smelling it, i’m detecting some sweeter tones in there. Crisp hop taste with a fairly even palate that seems to melt on the tongue, leaving only a little grapefruit streak on the tongue.
jjpm74 (2883), Connecticut, USA Aug 15, 2008 Cool label! Pours gold with a nice white head. Smells of resin, wildflowers, spicem pepper, earthy. Tastes resiny and caramelly with a finish that is slightly cloying. Decent. jgb9348 (1817), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Aug 11, 2008 Crisp hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of fresh malt, alcohol, strong yeast and a ton of hops - very nice! Full-bodied; Super strong hops show up front with a bunch of alcohol, malt and yeast with apricots the most pungent of the bunch. Aftertaste shows piney and grapefruity hops with a good malt backbone and some yeast to cover it all up. In addition -a full bodied alcoholic flavour. Overall, a very nice beer - more of an Imperial IPA, but a ton of hops show very well! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in San Francisco, CA (4th Ave SOMA location) on 27-October-2008, sampled on 07-August-2008. haddon90 (950), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Aug 8, 2008 Thank you Jeremy for letting me try this! Love the name. Pours a hazy copper color with a nice frothy head. Floral aroma, with a mix of hops and citrus notes. Some caramel, malt, and hops mixed in the taste. Light citrus notes as well. Decent beer from Lagunitas! Angeloregon (1829), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 2, 2008 From a 22 ounce bottle poured a pale hazy amber hue with a rich frothy white head. Piny, bitter, citrus aroma with a floral tinge. Sticky, prickly, gritty, gnarley Lagunita presence. Yum! Pigfoot (2224), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 21, 2008 Lightly hazed, pale orange hue, 1/2 " head, pure white, looks nice.
Soft, but spiked aroma, pine and tropical fruity. Melon and citrus. Nice.
Ah! Tasty!
Sparkling, alert and lively hops, sticky, oily, spanking bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. The tongue gets smacked with every sip, then mellows, and it’s all good. A whole bomber of this? Ain’t I lucky!
An interesting interplay, easy going in the mouth, but hits the palate with bitter hops anew with each sip. Bam, yum, fruity, delicious, fierce, and freaky.
Very good.
