Pours a jazzy golden orange on tap with dissipating white head that leaves good lace. Aroma is heavy resinous hops, citrus on citrus. Taste follows, very nice. Nice thick mouth with good mouth and carbonation that has no hint of the booze. Awesome IPA.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap @ the Alehouse in a 10oz pour right after a Pliny the Younger during SF Beer Week. Clear, dark gold, with no real head. Smells like a pine tree with tropical fruit like pineapple, mango and some grapefruit. Tastes amazing - super fruity with peaches, pineapple, citrus, and caramel. Lagunitas says this is a "uber hoppy imperial oat wine"...what? This is one of the best DIPAs (this is really a TIPA) that I have ever tasted. Lagunitas uses oats is Sucks and this is Sucks deluxe. Is Lagunitas on fire or what?! Try this if you ever see it. Does not taste like a 10+%. Remember I compared it to a Pliny the Younger. Hmmm...

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler fill at state line..pours a light copper color..slight ring like white head..nose is hop dominant with citrus abound mango..candied pineapple.mouthfeel is decent..clean..fresh without being a palate destroyer..does have some nice sticky coating hop goodness..finishes a bit sweet with traces of honey..after having hop slam recently it would be hard to tell the two apart..but the mouthfeel here is not as good...decent stuff..

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Cuginos. Pours clear bronze with a dense off-white head. The aroma has funky hops, tropical notes, smooth toasty barleywine style malt, fresh baked bread, caramel, vanilla and a little grapefruit. It has a medium / full body with a bit of harshness and light sharp carbonation. The taste starts off with big sweet malt, woody oak, dried fruit hoppiness, spice, crackers and caramel. The finish gets very earthy with the hops and is on the resiny side. As the beer warms up the alcohol comes out a lot more and the hops and resin get very intense to the point where it lost the enjoyable traits at the beginning.
