This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

Poured from a 12 ozer into a pint glass no date on bottle but it's fairly fresh. Pours a kinda ugly brownish red. Plenty of frothy white lacing. Piney hops are plentiful in the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium, not too lights don't too heavy. Taste is floral hops, dirt, pine and a bit I skunk. And of course that trademark Lagunitas yeast imparted flavor. Overall I wasn't impressed with this one. Many better red hoppy ales/ipas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a reddish bronze color. The aroma is mostly sweet malt and honey? The taste is malt with a hint of grapefruit. This beer is not nearly as hoppy as some of the other Lagunitas I have had recently. Not bad.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Notes of citrus/floral/resin from the hops. The malt character is toast, caramel, and slightly grainy. Dry finish. Nice beer.

Bottle. Red amber with medium dense white head. Aroma brutal hoppy wit grape notes. Taste bitter and quite hopp dominated, grape and some malty sweetness in the body. Too aggressive and brutal for me.

Bottle. Pours a really nice copper with a couple fingers of off-white head, some lacing sticks to the side of the glass. The aroma has some resiny hoppy pine up front with some dark maltiness in the background. A little booze on the nose here. The taste is very interesting as it hits you right in the front of the tongue with a hop bitterness, then gives way to a sweetness that goes right through the finish. I canít nail down exactly what iím tasting but itís pretty darn enjoyable. the palate is very nice and enjoyable. Iím pleasantly surprised by this one.

Pours tawny with amber tinge, tan head. Aromas of sweet caramel malt and citrus-floral hops. Flavor is same with hops superseding. Another good one from lagunitas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
