COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

This beer has an amazing copper color and pour with a thick head that lasts for days. This beer is exactly what I like about hops and none of what I don't. It is citrusy in the aroma and flavor. I like it a lot. Another big time win for Lagunitas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured with a thick head and red-ish copper appearance. Smell has a slight hint of alcohol. The hops and malt balanced out and had a smooth finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml bottle. Ceremonial 7001 rating. Red amber color, huge head, beaut lacing. Lagunitas ale yeast, breadiness, caramel, citrus nad dank hops in the smell. Flavor is prickly and acidic, high alpha hops that leave a medium bitterness. Lots of toasted grain, some resin. Very nicely done. Would work much nicer in thier lineup as opposed to maximus.

Pours bronze with off white head and nice lacing. Aroma of spice, tropical fruit, and some pine. Taste is the same with sizeable malt backbone. Smooyh and drinkable. Very nice.

Bomber. Pours an amber red with decent off-white head and retention. Nose is pine and citrus, tropical dankness (guava and passion-fruit), some malt hiding in the background. Mouth is medium bodied but then thins out, not as sticky as I’d imagined it would be, relatively dry, loads of pine and citrus, toasty malt backbone, long (albeit slightly muted) bitter finish. Decent and at a very nice price.

I would say this is a no-joke imperial red. It is loaded with caramel and some bittersweet elements. Nicely subdued heavy-hitter. Serving: 22oz bottle.

Bomber (brewed in Chicago) pours a clear reddish amber with moderate, airy off-white head and a bit of lacing. Aroma has pine resin, citrus, and musty malts. Flavor is bitter with toffee sweetness in the middle. Body is medium to full with noticeable carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Worth trying again, especially at this price.

Pours a dark red into Guinness pint glass. Spicy nose with a huge musty malt profile. It is a bit complex in the nose… I get some fruity and herbal notes. The flavor has that spicy traditional stong hop presence. Sweet with roasted and bread notes. Its a nice blend of complex flavors. Will buy again.

22 oz. bottle. Pours reddish with a medium off white head. Good head retention, nice lacing. Aroma of pine and floral hops. Some caramel and toffee malt. Flavor is bitter with a sweet malt back bone. Strong hop bitterness, specifically pine and citrus. Velvety texture, full bodied. Finishes with some sweetness.
