COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks DSG. Clear orange-amber with a nice stable head. Aroma - grass, green fruits, mango, onion. Sweet, tropical fruits, caramel malt, quite balanced, grassy bitter finish. Medium-bodied, semi-dry with long hoppy aftertaste. Nice.

Deep copper-red pour with a nice head. Aroma of hops, a honey like scent and a little metallic. Taste is all the same with the metallic being a little off putting. Finishes clean though, with a little hops and caramel malt notes.

Bottle. Pours a clear darker amber color with a reddish tinge and a moderate light tan head. Nose is grassy with a bit of toast coming through, but smells old. Taste seems much fresher, with a little bitterness up front and some doughy grass on the finish. Decent brew.

The cats at Lagunitas hold it down! Pours a brilliant copper red with a nice head of tightly packed off white bubbles. I think this is the first beer I have rated as a five (appearance). Aroma: caramel, floral, barnyard, cheese, some clove, some cooked vegetables. Taste is very well balanced. Clean palate with lingering bitters. Rated a four and I don’t even like red ales.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Mastikim, Ra’anana. Thanks DSG. Clear brownish with small beige head. Cheesy aroma, some melon notes, some maltiness, faint date honey notes. The flavor is quite sweet, date honey, caramel, "green", herbs, dry bitter finish. Light carbonation, medium-bodied.

Pours slightly hazy honey with a foamy head. Aroma quite hoppy, but with a strong malt and honey notes. Citrus and tropical fruit mostly. Taste manages to be both hoppy and malty without actually being "balanced". That is, it’s kinda like drinking two beers that have been poured into your mouth together and never really mixed. Very interesting. Palate is decidedly hoppy, and the whole thing stops a few gravity points too high to be an IPA, but than again, it’s not listed as one. ;)

Bottle. Pours brown with deep red hues, clear, foamy off-white head. Aroma is citrus, fresh grain, barley, sweet, pepper. Taste is medium bodied, sweet with bitter backbone, nice long finish. Overall, good.
