COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

Pours deep and shiny red with a decent head, aroma of orange marmalade with some mango notes, flavor is bitter and crisp with some grapefruit skin and orange juice, medium to full bodied, tasty

Sample poured from a bottle. This beer adds a smooth, citrus, sweet twist to that distinctive Lagunitas hoppy/malty taste. Very enjoyable.

12oz bottle 8/7/12 (Cellar Rat-MCI)-Pours a medium red with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, and hops. Taste of the same with some more hops. This medium bodied brew is very well balanced and quite tasty. Nice brew.

12oz bottle a gift from Cheap (who is anything but cheap)!! Reddish/amber pour, good thick off brown head. Aroma is strong hoppy (citrus/grassy) I love it already!! Taste is well balanced malt/hop flavor. The imperial flavor or alcohol flavor is big bold in your mouth, medium to full body bitter finish. excellent brew. I would drink again, but one or two in a sitting would be enough.

Taken from old notes. Deep red pour with a nose of citrus. Taste is smooth amber ale with a touch of sweetness. Finish is a gentle bitter.

Bottle. Tastes smells caramel hops sweet bit booze. No real head kind of syrup texture. Not really good maybe bottle was old had like a stale funk to it I wouldn’t buy it again.

Great mouth feel. Not the prettiest beer in the glass. Has a rich aroma- almost like a barrel aged stout in smell. Complex but doesn't make the cross over to great, mostly owing to an overpowering aftertaste for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the bottle, amber red pour, small white head. Caramel malts and resin flavors in the nose. Taste is malty and alchool flavors with a little bitter bite. Not my favorite, but still pretty good.

Pours a nice looking copper brown. Malts and grapefruits in the nose. Caramel malt with a nice attack of bitterness, followed by red grapefruit and pine. Has a pleasant sweetness mixed in, too. Dry finish. The beer leans toward some bitterness, but a wonderful bouquet of aromas and flavors.

12oz bottle. Deep amber with some sediment and a foamy, beige head. Aroma of caramel, toast, citrus and pine resin. Flavor is bitter hops with a firm malt backbone and well hidden alcohol. Medium body with a sticky mouth feel. Another great beer from Lagunitas that balances out hops and caramel malt nicely and has a bit of an alcohol kick.
