This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

35,5cl. bottle. Amber/copper with a creamy white head. Nicely hopped aroma - grapefruity/piney & a slight sweet malty note. Well balanced, soft & full bodied. Power fruity hoppy - but still pleasant in a nice way. Lasting bitter end. Good drinkability!

On tap at Collins Pub, Seattle. Russet colour with beige head. Rich red fruit and hop aroma. Lots of strawberry malt aroma, lots of grapefruit hop on finish. Lots of hop on aroma. Lovely richness. Great malt base to run the Impy hops over. Love it. Unsubtle but lovely.

Bottle, 7.6%. Sweet caramelly hoppiness in aroma. Clear red copper colour, small white head. Caramelly tea flavour with a good sweetness and a little pepper. Aftertaste is slightly rough, but does well to cleanse palate.

Bottle. Bomber. Clear, copper-colored beer with a beige head. Hoppy flavor with beef-stock, malt, some sweetness and caramel. There’s hops, alcohol, malt, sweetness and beefstock in the flavor. Quite bitter in the mouth, with malt and hops to finish it off. A nice beer, but there’s too much hops to balance it. (070413)

(22oz. Bottle) Pours a deep amber body with a large lasting beige head. Aroma of caramel, fresh baked bread, and citrus (orange, grapefruit). The flavor has a god malt base with fresh hops combined with a sweet caramel and citrus finish. This blends nicely to a soft, silky smooth dessert in a glass. An excellent beer!

(22oz bottle) Crystal clear copper body with large beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pine, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some caramel, pine -- much more bitter than the IBUs suggest. Medium body, some resin.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbaren, Cph. Pours a deep red with a small film head. Aroma has lots of American hoppiness as well as a light fruity edge and weak pine notes. Light caramel peeps through as well. Nice mouthfeel with lots of dryness. Great flavour, sweet caramel at first, then biscuit and maltiness before ending on a powerful dry hoppy note. Nice.
