COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

I was expecting a huge hop bomb of a beer for some reason and was met with an easy drinking well balanced brew. Malty with an almost ice tea like nose. Medium bodied and well balanced leaning to the malt side just a hair. Very enjoyable

Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is pineapple, pine, fruity malts. Flavor is sweet malts and some tart fruits up front with a balanced hoppy finish. A great autumn/winter beer for IPA lovers.

Pours a dark amber color with a nice red hue. Has nice head retention and lacing. Tastes strongly of malt and is slightly bitter. Would never guess it was a near 8 percent beer. A strong choice!

Strong robust aroma nutty and strong. nothing special on appearance. Red with weak white head that dissipates quickly. A good tasting beer but not off the charts

Bomber. Pours a bold copper color, lots of sediment/hops suspended, good head with nice lacing. Aroma is medium, appetizing, and matches taste. Taste is strong--a little sweet on the nose, some malts but not as much as Iíd like. Fades to a dry-hopped bitter. Nice hop back-bone. Itís a west-coast version of the imperial red ale. Recommended.

Bomber. Pours a copper amber orange with ample frothy head. Aroma is mix of roasty malt and ripe grapefruit. Taste is intially bitter, then malty sweet and switch back to bitter aftertaste. Slightly oily mouthfeel and texture. Nice Imperial here.

Dan good. Amber pour with light head. Aroma is more pine than citrus. Taste is pine and grapefruit. Very nice.

22 ounce bottle. Copper red color. Big foamy beige head. Clinging lace. Spicy hop nose redolent of resin and pine hops. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor has the tell-tale Lagunitas spicy hop character. You get grapefruit, pine, cardamom and black pepper. Some brown sugar and toasted pecans as well. Finish is dry and bitter with a hint of the 7.8% ABV emerging.

From the 650 ml. bottle. Attractive amber pour with a long lasting cream colored head. Lots of floral hops combine with the toasted malts to make the aroma a pleasant sniffing experience. Smooth, medium body. The taste is awash with roasted malts and hop bitterness. Lingering finish. Highly enjoyable and well balanced

Pours a nice deep red with a 2 finger, off white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, and roasted malts. Flavor matches, it seems like a mix between a red and an IPA. This is more bitter than a standard red, so you hop-heads might like it.

22 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a deep, clear reddish copper color with an inch of frothy off-white head. Aroma of toasted and caramel and bready malts, a lot of nuts, dry leaves, grass, and earth. The flavor is fruitier and more bitter- florals, citrus, dried berries, caramel, nuts, tea, grass, florals, tobacco, and mild spice. Medium-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation, and an odd balance of sweet and bitter and malty and earthy. Really digs in on the finish. More complexity than I anticipated.
