Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

Aroma of fruity hops and sweet malt. Dark red-brown color and a creamy tan head with strong lacing. Taste has a hoppy bite but balanced with a rich malt flavor and noticeable alcohol. Well balanced with a smooth character overall.

Pours a dark clean copper with a small head. Aroma is fantastic! Big grapefruit, piney hops, hints of floral and malt. Flavor is even bigger grapefruit. WOW!! Bitter and sticky. Pine, hops, malt. Finish is dryish and bitter. Top notch!!!!

Bottled. Great off white head that does dissapate. Reddish mahagony color with aromas of sweet malt, Earth, And hops. Taste is of solid sweet malt, piny, citrusy, hops, and a little yeast in there. Great mouth feel that tingles the tongue and finishes full.

Its a really large beer. Smells like pine but the hops are citrus and present. Ends with malty sweetness.

Pours a nice dark copper color with a thin beige head. Smell is pine and citrus hops with some maltiness. Sweet smelling too. Taste is sweet, bready, some dark fruit and some piney hops. Well done and balanced.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark coppery red. Nice thick beige head. Smells of pine, flowers, and some citrus. Tastes malty sweet, hop bitter, but a nice blend of a slight citrus, perfume, and lots of pine. A little toast in the mix as well. Nice honey thickness keeps the aftertaste around for a while.

12oz bottle. Pours deep dark copper, finger of off-white head and nice lacing. Basically, this is the same exact beer as Ithaca Cascazilla, just a little pricier. In fact, if you bottled this in the Cascazilla bottles, nobody would know the difference. Check that- Ithacans would probably notice that Cascazilla has a bit more... ZING to it. Pretty good beer though...

poured from a 12oz twist off into wide mouthed glass. pours a deep redy with minimal head. aroma is a nice balance of hops and malt backbone. Lots of american hop character - very citrus-like. taste is immediately bitter, but quickly sweetens from the malt, finishes bitter and floral. lacking some biscuit and toasted character that I prefer in my hoppy beers, but still drinkable. Overall, a nice beer. I’d like to compare this to the Lucky13 side by side, but i don’t think I would be able to stand much after that.
