It has a rich malt aroma with some cherry notes. The flavor is of caramel malt with nice fruity hop tones. This medium bodied brew has good bitterness in the finish. Well done. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours the color of a lightly tarnished penny with a minimal tan head. Dense aromas of nutty malt and slight hops dominate, but toffee and earth tones are there, too. Heavy sweetness dominates the flavor... a bit of a caramel, toffee sticky sweetness. A little bit of nut and wood are there, too. Finish is fairly sweet and sticky. jjuf1853 (471), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2008 Bottle pours a clear dark copper color with a thin beige head. Although the head is thin it produces nice lacing along the glass. The aroma is hoppy with pineapple overtones. Flavor includes roasted caramel malts to go along with all the hops. Nice bitterness in the finish! zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2008 Taste 12/8 Bottle. Looks: Clear dark brown color. Aroma:Malty, nutty and wood. Taste: While the aroma is muted dark tones, the taste is vibrant. Very malty red with a nice smooth bitterness. Alcohol presence is mild. A nice yeasty flavor that I like. It balances the malt well. I like it above the current 3.71/94 percentile. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2008 Bottle. Medium sized ivory semi-fizzy head that lacked good retention, transparent, fair amount of lacing, lively, fast rising carbonation, and an orange hue. The aroma was malt, caramel, hoppy, pine, and citrus. Ditto for the flavor along with a dry finish. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. A very nice balanced beer that was easy and enjoyable to drink, not overly hoppy tasting, worthy of a try, and a beer that I would drink again. BuckeyeBoy (1654), Boise, Idaho, USA

Aroma of a grass and hops. A nice mix of sweet malts and hops. A little citrus on this one. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Draught. Pours red amber with a thin off white head. Weak sugary malt and hop aroma. Flavor is more sweet, sugary malt with a touch of hops. Overall somewhat bland. Nothing offensive but nothing wooing me over. 0o9i (333), Reno, Nevada, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2008 12oz bottles. A light amber color with a minuscule, off-white head that is more of a ring that laces. Body is clear and slightly sparkling. Mouth is medium-full, light carb, and wet. I smell hop flowers, fruity esters, peanut-brittle, and molasses cookies. The flavor is surprisingly well-hopped with pine, grapefruit rind, and some peachy notes. Otherwise I taste sugar, a touch of caramel, wheat bread, and a woody, astringent finish. Another fun brew from Lagunitas.
