Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

Bottle from Beerbiker! Deep red in color with a dense light brown head. Loads of sweet grainy malt aromas along with soaked bread and as in every other Lagunital i’ve had, lots of flowery hops. Sweet caramel and nutty flavor again with plenty of bitterhops. Great!

Chris o’s GBBF Shindig 08. American IPA aroma. Quite thick and intense. Sweet clean malt and lots of hops. Some pleasant fruit in the finish. Not my thing, but OK. No big objections.

In short: A well malted juicy fruity tasty sweet kind-of-IPA. Excellent.
How: Bottle 12oz, drank fresh
The look: Clear redish-copper body topped by a medium beige leaving good lacing
In long: Lots of fruity hops on the nose. Super satisfying mouthfeel, a bunch of red fruits (including strawberries!) wrapped in luscious caramel. Malt bill kind of reminded me of rye-based beers. Plenty of juicy fruity hops for a smooth but tasty bitterness. Never harsh, somewhat sweet, like a fruity dessert. The type of beer I’d like to drink more often, if I wasn’t so damn busy drinking other beers.

Pours light red with a moderate white head. Very hoppy and malty, a very good balance between the two. A liitle more malty upfront with a good lingering hop flavor in the aftertaste. This beer tatse stronger than it is and does not go down very easy due to high maltieness. Very well rounded solid beer!!

Had this at Chris O’s pre GBBF tasting, 02-08-08 cheers for a wonderful day Chris Pours dark amber with off white head. Some oakiness on the nose, appears oak aged but apparently isn’t. Some spirit, sweet but tangy edge with some toffee, hops bursting through nice soft mouthfeel lovely beer, vanilla at end, really nice.

Bottle 35 cl. Deep golden orange with an off-white thin head. Nose is vinoes and I even think of Champange but also notes of malt, tobacco and toffé. The palate is light and sparklin with a taste that has bitter hops, orange-peel, light caramels and peaches... would be great to serve ice-coled as an evening-starter...

12oz bottle. deep amber pour with a small tan color head. Smells mainly of pine hops with a bit of citrus. tingly medium bodied. caramel, tropical fruit and a light smokiness. somehow has a bit of a cola taste to it. finishes with well balanced bitter hops. really like this one. K-7.5
