Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

Clear amber of color with a white head. An aroma of malt, caramel and hops. A flavor of malt, lots of hops and sweets.

on tap at the blind tiger, 11/14/07. dark ruby copper color, light tan creamy head. aroma is hops, sweaty pine resin. flavor is roasted toffee malt in the background, but predominately hop bitterness. gets very bitter in the finish. not much of a red really.

Bottle. Amber bordering on brown, off-white head that fades quickly to a big-bubbled scum, spotty lacing. Malt-centric both in the nose and the taste - caramel in the nose, caramel and slight biscuit on the tongue. Aroma also shows orange and grapefruit, some nice pine accents. Slight alcohol presence in the finish, long lasting and pleasingly bitter aftertaste. High carbonation but sits thickly on the tongue. Nice, very well-balanced.

Bottled. Pours out in a clear reddish amber colour with a big solid white foam. Big aroma of lychee, caramel, flowers and blood-oranges. Medium to full-bodied with strong hoppy notes of grapefruit, lychee and grass with a malty backbone of sweet citric fruit and caramel. Long bitter finish of lychee, grass and blood grape. Really tasty!

Pours a clear amber with an off-white diminishing head. Quite bitter with a mellow sweetness. Some caramel artomas. (Caramel backbone, just like a red ale should be.) Fruity hoppyness. Medium to full bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Nice dry finish.

Flaske.

Pours reddish brown with off-white head. Aroma of bread, yeast, hops, grass and roasted sweet malts with a bit of citrus. Flavor matches aroma... very well balanced
