Deep reddish copper colored pour with a nice rocky tan head. Nose is just awesome – dominate piney hop aroma, enough maltiness in the background to balance it out. Mouthfeel is just a touch sticky, but otherwise perfect. Great flavor, the hops are up front and followed with a malty sweetness that doesn’t go overboard. This is another great beer from Lagunitas – they continue to impress. badlizard (2339), Berkeley, California, USA

Decent floral profile with a very light grapefruit component. Hoppiness is a tad muddled as opposed to the clean aroma. But it’s still a very refreshing hoppy brew and one I’d come back to. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 14, 2007 Poured from the bottle a deep garnet red with off-white head and decent lacing. Aroma was hops and malts. Flavor was a blast of piney hops followed sweet malts and finishing with a bittering hop bite. Silky mouthfeel, even with all those hops. Tasted like a mildly sweet IPA, very good! SuzyGreenberg (1324), Seattle, Washington, USA

Brutal assault on the palate -- alcohol, hop oil, full-on blast of malt, more hop oil. Outstanding brew. (#3133, 10/10/2007)
