Nicely done. TheBeerGod (3147), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Aroma is spicy hops, caramel, flowers and raw nuts. Taste is hoppy and semi-sweet with caramel, nuts, citrus fruits and spicy hops. Some flowery notes there as well. body is medium with a strong carbonation feel. Lots of burping with this one. Ends with more spicy and floral hops, citrus fruits and oils, caramel and doughy malts. redlight (1458), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 15, 2007 NW hops on the nose, piney and citrusy, caramel malts hidden in there too. Pours a dark red/amber with a dense white head. Very hoppy, not that balanced up front, there is a malty sweetness in there, and i get some good malt flavor on the back end. Its an IPA thats red. Still very tasty. drfabulous (1232), Columbia, Missouri, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Bottled. Purchased in Olema, CA, not far from Lagunitas. Served in a pint glass with small 1/4 in. vanilla head that dissipates quickly into a thin coating with some lace. Big hoppy aroma for sure with burnt wood and caramel. Lots of carbonation but it finishes surprisingly smooth. Definitely one of Lagunita’s better beers. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Deep reddish color, with a very inviting bright, fresh floral hop smell. Light beige head. Taste is as expected I’d guess, and is a "big" red ale. Quite well hopped, with a semi-strong rich lasting alcohol and hop aftertaste making it a bit difficult to drink. Not my preferred style, but good nonetheless. Nephilium (547), Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Nice strong hoppy aroma. This pours a dark reddish-amber, with about a finger of head floating on top. Nice sweet malt flavor to start with, then a long finish of citrus hops. Alcohol is very well hidden. A very drinkable beer.
