Citrusy hoped with a hint for fuitness. Flavor is sweet and hoopy, exactly as you would expect from and imp red. Like all Lagunitas brews, nothing to crazy, except the packaging, but an above average drinkable brew. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Pours a clear amber brown. Definite orange hue going on there. No head after a minute or two, but there is a lot of lacing left. Nose is very mild with what seems like an alcohol infused apple. Flavor is a bit hoppy, but not too much overall. Alcohol is noticable on the palate, but not overpoweringly so. Mostly just gives a deep earthy flavor profile. Feel has a good level of carbonation to it and a nice liquid body. Overall it is pretty drinkable. Not the strongest of strong ales, but it definitely doesn’t lack some kick. Smooth and even, but not showy at all.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Tasted from a 12 oz. bottle at the Illini Homebrewers Club meeting. Deep red pour. Citrusy grapefruit aromas dominate the aroma with just a hint of malt. It’s all about the hops once it hits your lips. Huge citrusy hop character. I wish I had a whole bottle of this to try and not just a small sampling. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Bottle. Reddish copper with an almond colored frothy head. Tea leaf hop aroma with some strawberry esters. Flavor dominated by a hefty swath of hops-a combo of grapefruit, pine, and tea- which results in a smooth but assertive bitterness. A very fine hoppy quaff from Lag. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Big grapefruit, piney hops, hints of floral and malt. Flavor is even bigger grapefruit. WOW!! Bitter and sticky. Pine, hops, malt. Finish is dryish and bitter. Top notch!!!! a10555 (124), West Chester, Ohio, USA

(Rivers Bend Wine & Spirits). What a great beer, bright fruity aroma, deep amber color and the flavor like most Lagunitas beers is outstanding! I really hope that it loses the limited release tag.

Has a nice grapefruit dryness on the aftertaste. Very hoppy taste but balanced nicely by the malt. A very good offering by a great brewery.
