Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

Bottle, split with NachlamSie. Pours a hazy, yet ruby red color with a medium beige head. Leaves a lot of sticky lacing when swirled. Aroma is a wonderful hop bouquet, lots of citrus fruits, common for a California hop bomb. Flavor is a bit more restrained, the more lemony notes come through, along with some caramel. Finishes bitter, but still more restrained than most hop bombs. Probably a good introductory beer into massively hopped beers.

bottle split with Muenster. Pours red. Yep. Nice white head on top. The nose is pretty hoppy, typical Lagunitas style. Dense caramel and some peat comes out in the nose along with pine and citrus. The flavor was more on the lemony side of things than I was expecting. Very citrusy with pretty good sticky, biscuity malts to balance. This isn’t quite the typical beefed up American red ale, but it’s definitely identifiable as such and pretty tasty.

Bottle. Pours rusty red with tight, satisfactory cream-colored head. The aroma is toasty with hints of banana, lemon creme, and pine. The flavor is very piney with some toasty malts. Earthy bitterness comes out in the finish and leaves a tingly aftertaste. Decent.

12oz bottle poured a clear light red color with a nice off white head. Aroma of caramel, mild hops and a touch of roastiness. Flavor was nicley balanced with a smooth hop flavor that mellowed to an array of specialty malts. No noticable alcohol taste.

Pours a cloudy brown color with thick frothy head the fades quickly. Aroma is of a caramel malt, molasses, citrus hops and a bit of fruitness. Taste is much the same. This puts Arrogant Bastard to shame IMHO. The hops and malt are jumping out at you but equal each other out which leads to a nice balance. Nicely carbonated and easy to drink. Excellent beer.

pours a dark cloudy apple cider red with a one finger white head that does not last too long. aroma is heavy hops with some malt, pine, and orange peel. has a medium body with ok lacing and descent carbonation. flavor is sweet malt and heavy hops with some orange peel and a touch of pine and has a dry hop aftertaste. this is a very awsome impy red and is way better than there ipa and equal to if not better than maximus. i noticed it having a little mango aroma and flavor as it warms, and the hops is stronger as well.cheers!
