Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

A pretty fruity aroma, some hops. Some lime and orange maybe. Now this is tasty. A great hop flavor, some sweetness, a bit of caramel malt. Overall awesome.

Dark brownish-red, very light carbonation. Sweet malty aroma, mild with slight spicy zest. Hop bitterness is dominant in palate, with slight hints of cinnamon.

Pretty ok beer. Amber pour, off white head. Citrus hops, floral hops, caramel malt. Flavor is malty but has a nice bite of hops. Some citrus notes and a hint of caramel. Not bad.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated light brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was malty brown malt and mild spice. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The strong flavor contained notes of hops and Irish red malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a clear deep amber/red with nice beige head. Aroma is filled with hoppy citrus, very aromatic. Flavor pine, a little sweetness, very light caramel, malty, nice clean bitter. Mouth feel is medium body with high carbonation. Overall, this beer has some liveliness to it, I very much enjoyed and would recommend.

Well I have to go counter public opinion on this one. Way too hoppy and bitter. The hops over-power the beer in all aspects. Poured a bottle of dark reddish brown with a thin head that quickly dissapated. In the smell I could immediately smell the heavy malt, and Hops (Cascades I would guess). Both were very strong in the aroma. Taste, for me is all in the balance. I got some hops in the aroma, hops up front with the malt, and heavy hop flavor and bitterness on the back end. Not a beer I enjoyed, nor would I drink again. I know the hop heads may disagree, but I have had much better beers from Lagunitas.

Poured dark red with a tiny white head that vanished quickly during inspection. Nice blend on the flavor, hops, malt, rye. Not bad and will try again.
