COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

Pours a beautiful amber gold with a creamy tan white head. Nose is hops and flowers. Creamy on the palate, the taste is rich and full of hops with a soft malt backbone. Not overly bitter. Pairs well with barbequed ribs.

Sprucey/piney hops add a slight bitterness at the beginning leading into the sweet, delicious middle consisting of darker fruits such as cherry and caramel malt (which is where the beer gets its beautiful color). Then, at the end, the imperial nature of this red ale comes back for the main punch of the hops, leaving you with a nice bitterness that doesn’t overwhelm the palate and settles into a nice creamy bitter mixture. With a nice full body and tall head of foam on the pour, this beer is a pleasure for all the senses.

LearninBeer (380) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - OCT 19, 2014
The aroma is hoppy, spruce and grass and a little malt, caramel. Pours a clear copper amber/brown, with a big off white head mostly diminishing with excellent lacing. The taste is medium bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter. Very good.

"similar to red rocket (bear republic) in that this can be a really full flavored, super hoppy (and really good) ale...if it’s not spoiled. inconsistencies have led me to pass this one up on the shelf lately. it can be really tasty, though."

Smak och doft humle, malt, karamell, smörkola, citrus, honung, röda bär, brunt socker. Lagom söt, fruktig, rund och len, välbalanserad med fin beska. Riktigt, riktigt gott.

Shot (154) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - OCT 15, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2014 Pours dark copper with a rocky white head. Aromas are Caramel, pine, citrus and dark fruit. Flavors are upfront hops that give way to caramel, stone fruits, bitter citrus...a slight herbal tone...and a touch of biscuit. Slight booziness in the finish. Medium mouthfeel. Delicious brew. Another triumph from Lagunitas!
