This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

Appearance: Pours an attractive amber copper color. Translucent. And it has a creamy beige head and loads of lacing lining the glass. Smell: Caramel and a sweet poignant grapefruit aroma, hints of earthy woodyness, and creamy sweet browned butter, a toasty brown sugar and a gently ‘delightfully’ phenolic butterscotch aroma induce the salivation. This beer is a sniffer. Taste: This beer does a beautiful dance upon the palate. The sweet sensations from the candied caramelized malt to the orange pine hop biter that prance on my taste buds with a hint of mint, lightly toasted malt and butterscotch candy flavors followed by some alcohol showing through just enough to warm the palate and ease the mind, oh yeah!!! Mmm! It finishes with a strong green pine hop bitter kick that lets you know it was there, but the aftertaste is so pleasant it is worth savoring even after the beer is gone. Spectacular! Mouthfeel: It is a velvety smooth medium – full body beer that is spicy astringent and enjoyable. Drinkabilty: I really enjoy this beer but ‘golly me’ I am done with one. I is big in IBU and sweetness and alcohol is up there too. This is an enjoyable beer in moderation. Not a sessioner by any means. Hope this is helpful. Cheers!

Amber pour with a big, active head. This is an astringent and very hoppy red/amber ale, with some lager flavor. At first this is almost like a random blend one might together from a few open bottles at a beer tasting, but the flavor did grow on me. The aroma is lightly funky and sweet. It is Interesting on the palate, with notes of chili and wintergreen. This was not love at first taste, but it is a good brew.

25 oz. bottle. Pours a clear reddish-amber color with a thin, brief tan head. Heavy aroma of malt, caramel & hops. Medium-full body, taste is a good balance of malt and hops, a little sticky mouthfeel. The caramel stays with me on the swallow. Pretty good.

Pours a deep clear ruby red with a foamy tan head. Aroma of rich malt and floral hops. Taste is smokey roasted malt with a slightly tart floral bitter finish. Finishes clean and crisp. Slight hint of dark cherries. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beer tasting @ Jorn69 3/1-15. Bottle from Systembolaget. Hoppy with caramel, grapefruit and pine needles, also some sweetness. The finish is dry, bitter and hoppy.

It pours a ruby color with a slight bit on clouding. The head is off white with a small bit of lacing. It has aromas of caramel, cherries, and other dried fruits. The sweet taste is that of cherries and dried fruits. It is sweet on the plate as well.

12 oz pour from refrigerated bomber into Spiegelau IPA glass. Strong head that dissipates moderately quickly. Leaves a bit of head on the top of the beer. Little lacing. Nice ruby color. Strong carbonation. Moderately opaque. Nose is great. Fruit and pine. Mouthfeel is a bit creamy with a bit of a carbonated bite. Taste is nice with mild sweetness. Strong hop bitterness, though not much aftertaste. Good maltiness. Pine, orange juice, raisin, and biscuit. A very enjoyable beer.
