Nicely done. A solid red thats amped up. Very crisp as are most Lagunitas, yet full of complexity.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bomber into a pint glass from Safeway @ 4.59 on sale. Dark red, almost clear, thin off white head. Smells faintly like a fresh ní fruity IPA. Taste starts with the usual tropical fruits and pine then hits a battle of rich sugary malts with a big hoppy (lagunitas-ish) bite at the same time. Hops wins, then a carmel, herbal, warming backbone to finish. Very easy to drink for a 7.8%. This Red DIPA has to be listed in the top 3 red ales out there. Limited release to try it while you can. This is easily worth the price.

4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Amazing red ale filled with flavor. Had a star fruit like aroma and was a beautiful deep red color. Medium head, white/ offwhite in color with a small amount of lacing. Great flavors both bold and subtle. Wish I could lick the glass.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear copper to ruby color. Thin white head that lasts with some lacing. Hoppy, malty, sugary, lemon and pine aromas. A bit of a slick oily texture. Lots of malt backbone. Malty, grassy, spicey with a perfect bitter balance. Bitterness lingers with hints of grapefruit.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours dark amber, frothy head that lasts and leaves great lacing. Malty aroma of hay, bread, cereal and a subtle funky moldiness that isnít all-together that unpleasant. Lightly bitter medium sweet taste, average up front carbonation but a bit too much lingering carbonation and a lingering bitterness through the finish. Solid malt backbone, oily texture and medium body.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Listed at 54.20 IBUs. Also says "ick" instead of "yum" on my bottle description. Pours a bronzed amber with a decent off-white head that settles to a thicker ring and film, leaving a wall of thick lace. Nose involves spicy chinook-esque hops, brown sugar, pine, citrus pith, toffee, herbal tea. Pretty sweet, fairly bitter. Medium to full bodied, quite oily, toward chewy yet not really, with a zesty herbal caramel finish. Pretty good, easy to drink, but it has something to it. I think Iím liking the red Lagunitas better than the paler ones, though I havenít had the pils yet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Strong hop aroma, like an IPA. The color was a clear brown, but not quite as coppery as I had hoped. Not too bitter and relatively easy to drink. Good, but it didnít do anything to distinguish itself.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rich copper with off-white head. Aroma is strong pine citrus with underlying resin. The flavor has more of the pine bitterness that washes across the palate and then leaves a light caramel sweetness.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rusty amber color with three fingers of sticky eggshell foam. Nose is earthy rye spice, graham cracker, citrus and sappy pine. Palate is silky creamy and delicious with a nice rustic grain character that provides a big malty backdrop for the spicy earth to linger and punchy citrus and pine flavors to ebb and flow till the bitter finish. Another perfect beer from Lagunitas !
