COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of the day, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrhagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, weird, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to a futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

Black pour with thick tan head. Smells of roasted chocolate. Tastes of cocoa with a hint of dark fruit. Finishes with alcohol and slightly bitter. They do a pretty good job covering the 9.9% abv.

Pours a solid black with a tan head and lacing. It has an aroma of toasty malt, some coffee and chocolate and a hoppy background. The flavor is malt, toast, and chocolate up front with a coffee backbone and sweet, malty finish over a heavy body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle - Pours a dark black/brown with a frothy medium light tan head that stuck around to produce some minor lacing on the glass. Aroma is of dark malts and pine hops. Flavor has an odd astringency that detracts. Some coffee and light of chocolate. A bit of "booze". Lingering bitterness.

This beer is a clear victim of Ratebeer Groupthink. It isnt an elite beer, but it is a lot better than many of the rates on this site indicate. Pours a lovely darkest brown with red tinge. Light tan head. Scent is mostly chocolate with a bit of booze and coffee. Earthy sweet start with good hop finish. Lively for a beer of this type. Bottle - Intown Market - Atlanta, GA

Black with mocha head. Nose of roasted malt, brown sugar, and faint black olive. Flavor is a smooth roasted malt, cocoa/bitter chocolate, light brown sugar sweetness. Lingering roast and chocolate. Fairly light. Very nice, plain, drinkable stout.

22 oz bottle poured a deep black. Lots of thick foam. Faint aroma of sweet dark chocolate. Good robust flavor and thick mouth feel. Lots of coffee and dark chocolates flavor dominate. A slight bitterness lingers but not for long. Good Impy stout. Smooth!
